O Flamengo enfrenta o Santos nesta quarta-feira (16), às 20h (de Brasília), no estádio da Vila Belmiro, em confronto válido pela 14ª rodada do Brasileirão. Em campo, o time comandado por Filipe Luís estará atento às investidas de Neymar e também aos jogadores que poderão perder o clássico com o Fluminense, domingo, no Maracanã. Ao menos dois atacantes estão na berlinda pelo acúmulo de cartões.
São eles Bruno Henrique e Wallace Yan, além de Erick Pulgar, mas este último segue lesionado e sem previsão de retorno aos gramados. Caso os dois primeiros recebam uma nova advertência nesta noite, automaticamente ficariam de fora do confronto diante do Tricolor das Laranjeiras. Na prévia da escalação, o camisa 27 deve ser titular.
Filipe Luís deixa Pedro de fora
Para encarar o Santos, Filipe Luís decidiu mais uma vez não relacionar Pedro. Apesar de relatos apontarem uma nova postura nos treinamentos, parece não ter ganhado ainda 100% da confiança do seu treinador. Fica a expectativa de que ele possa ser convocado para o compromisso do final de semana. Por outro lado, Matheus Gonçalves foi chamado.
Após ser destaque nas duas últimas partidas do Brasileirão Sub-20, o jovem atacante que esteve perto de ser negociado com o Cruzeiro fica à disposição para o duelo com os paulistas e será opção no banco de reservas.
Na lateral-esquerda, Varela será improvisado, isso porque Alex Sandro se recupera de uma lesão na posterior da coxa esquerda. Assim como Ayrton Lucas, que ainda trata a ferida na perna esquerda sofrida na vitória sobre o São Paulo. Com dores no tornozelo, Michael é mais uma baixa no Rubro-Negro.
Portanto, uma provável escalação do Flamengo para enfrentar o Santos tem: Rossi; Wesley, Léo Ortiz (Danilo), Léo Pereira, Varela; Allan, Jorginho, Arrascaeta; Luiz Araújo, Bruno Henrique e Plata.

Com 27 pontos, o Flamengo segue na ponta do Campeonato Brasileiro, seguido de perto pelo Cruzeiro, que tem a mesma pontuação, mas perde nos critérios de desempate. Além disso, a Raposa possui um jogo a mais que os cariocas. Para permanecer na liderança, o Rubro-Negro precisa vencer o Santos e torcer pelo rival Fluminense, que enfrenta os mineiros amanhã.
