Every hockey season has its challenges, and one of the biggest next season for the Minnesota Wild will be when the World Junior Championship comes to the State of Hockey.
During the team’s 25th anniversary season, the Wild will be out of the newly named Grand Casino Arena from Dec. 27 until Jan. 10, according to their 2025-26 schedule, which was released Wednesday.

They have to clear out due to the World Juniors, which will take place Dec. 26 to Jan. 5. After the NHL’s holiday hiatus, the Wild will head out for a seven-game road trip that takes them from Winnipeg to Las Vegas to San Jose to southern California for one game against the Anaheim Ducks and two in a row against the Los Angeles Kings before ending the West Coast odyssey in Seattle on Jan. 8.
The Wild will open next season Oct. 9 in St. Louis before opening at home for the second year in a row against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Oct. 11. Last season, the Wild beat former coach Dean Evason’s Blue Jackets, 3-2, in the home opener.
After the two-game homestand that ends with the Kings, the Wild head out on a five-game trip to Dallas, Washington, Philadelphia, New York (Rangers) and New Jersey. The longest homestand of the season is six games featuring Utah, San Jose, Winnipeg, Pittsburgh, Vancouver and Nashville from Oct. 25 to Nov. 4.
The Wild will be off from Feb. 5-25 for the Winter Olympics and end the season with a three-game road trip before the finale in St. Paul on April 14 against the Ducks.
The 25th anniversary season will feature a commemorative sweater that can be worn four times (should be unveiled next month) and an homage to years past with several alumni returning to Minnesota throughout the season.
Recently signed Nico Sturm, who won a Stanley Cup with Colorado in 2022, will likely be presented with his latest Stanley Cup ring Jan. 24 when the Florida Panthers come to town.

2025 CFB Bad Beats: Late TCU Touchdown Dooms Colorado Spread Backers
There's nothing like the taste of bad beats late into the night. TCU played host to Colorado on Saturday night, and heading into the matchup, the Horned Frogs were favored by 13.5 points. Essentially, TCU spread-backers needed it to win by two touchdowns or more, while Buffaloes spread-backers needed them to lose by fewer than two touchdowns, or win outright. This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. If you sign up or place a wager, FOX Sports may be compensated. Read more about Sports Betting on FOX Sports. So, with 26 seconds to go in the game, TCU led 28-21, and faced a fourth-and-6 at the Colorado 21-yard line. Surely a field goal made sense, right? It was all the Horned Frogs needed to take a two-score lead and essentially ice the game. But what TCU needed was not what it […]

Teoscar Hernández’s Late HR Lifts Dodgers to NLDS Game 1 Win Over Phillies
