Derrotado pelo Red Bull Bragantino na volta do Brasileirão após a pausa para a Copa do Mundo de Clubes, o Corinthians vê o trabalho do técnico Dorival Júnior começar a sofrer uma forte pressão. Para o jornalista Fábio Sormani, a diretoria corintiana cometeu um grave erro ao demitir o argentino Ramón Díaz, que levou o clube ao título recente do Paulistão.
Em participação no programa “Opinião Placar”, no YouTube, nesta quarta-feira (16), o comentarista esportivo elogiou a passagem do treinador argentino pelo Timão, exaltando a excelente campanha de recuperação no Brasileirão do ano passado, quando tirou a equipe da zona do rebaixamento e levou até a classificação para a Libertadores, além do título estadual.
“Com o Ramón o time foi vice-campeão do segundo turno do Brasileirão do ano passado. Vale alguma coisa? Valeu a classificação para a pré-Libertadores. Foi a segundo melhor campanha no returno do Campeonato Brasileiro e foi campeão paulista. Claro que pegou mal a campanha na Libertadores, mas acho que o Corinthians se equivocou muito ao trocar o Ramón Díaz. Eu não teria tirado”, disse Sormani.
Já são cinco jogos sem vencer no Campeonato Brasileiro e apenas a 11ª colocação na tabela de classificação para o Corinthians em 2025 sob o comando do técnico Dorival Júnior, contratado para substituir Ramón Díaz. A última vitória na competição nacional aconteceu no dia 18 de maio, no clássico contra o Santos, por 1 a 0.
Por isso, Sormani indica que o cargo do ex-treinador da seleção brasileira no Timão corre sério risco. A sequência de partidas da equipe também não parece nada fácil: hoje encara o Ceará, no sábado (19) tem clássico contra o São Paulo, depois enfrenta o Cruzeiro no dia 23 e o Botafogo no dia 26. Para finalizar tem o clássico contra o Palmeiras no duelo de ida da Copa do Brasil no dia 30.
“Acho que ele corre risco. Se ele perder do Ceará hoje, do São Paulo no fim de semana, pode acontecer, e depois perde a vaga para o Palmeiras… Eu acho que ele corre muito risco”, destacou Sormani, colocando a possível eliminação na Copa do Brasil como estopim para uma eventual demissão de Dorival Júnior no Corinthians.

Para o duelo de hoje, logo mais às 19h30 (de Brasília), na Arena Castelão, pela 14ª rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro, o Timão terá alguns desfalques importantes. A lista conta com Yuri Alberto (em transição física), Ryan (desconforto estomacal), Hugo (desconforto no músculo adutor da coxa direita), Gustavo Henrique (controle de carga), Memphis Depay e Ángel Romero (ambos suspensos).
