O presidente do Vasco, Pedrinho e o técnico da equipe Fernando Diniz foram filmados nesta quinta-feira conversando com uma torcida organizada do clube, que estava no CT Moacyr Barbosa para cobrar o elenco cruz-maltino após duas derrotas consecutivas no pós-Mundial de Clubes. As boas campanhas de Botafogo, Flamengo e Fluminense no Mundial aumentaram a autoestima dos torcedores rivais, pressionando ainda mais o cruz-maltino a também dar alegria aos vascaínos no retorno às competições.
Mas o que se viu foi uma nova queda de rendimento. A equipe já havia perdido o clássico com o Botafogo, no Campeonato Brasileiro, por 2 a 0, neste sábado, e tomou uma goleada de 4 a 0 do Independiente del Valle-EQU, pela Copa Sul-Americana, nesta terça-feira.
A goleada catapultou o Vasco ainda mais alto na liderança da estatística como o time que mais levou derrotas por três ou mais gols de diferença. Foram oito jogos, contra dois do Botafogo e apenas um de Flamengo e Fluminense entre 2024 e 2025.
