El Museo de la FIFA, situado en el histórico edificio Haus zur Enge y que ocupa tres plantas y más de 3.000 m2, es una parada obligatoria al visitar Zúrich, ciudad a la que la selección española llegó el martes para disputar este miércoles las semifinales de la Eurocopa frente a la homóloga alemana. Entre sus estancias se esconden más de 1.000 piezas de coleccionistas de diferentes épocas (camisetas, trofeos, medallas…) tanto en la versión masculina como en la femenina.
Entre sus colecciones hay un apartado destacado dedicado a los Mundiales femeninos. El último, celebrado en 2023 en Australia y Nueva Zelanda, coronó a España como campeona del mundo. Aquella gesta firmada el 20 de agosto en Sídney, está inmortalizada con diferentes reliquias, entre ellas la camiseta que Jenni Hermoso vistió en la final en la que España se impuso a Inglaterra.

Esta no es, sin embargo, la única camiseta de la selección española que puede descubrirse en el Museo. Hay otra que llama poderosamente la atención y que suscita la curiosidad en la antesala de la final de la Eurocopa. Se trata de la elástica que vistió Alexia Putellas el 17 de febrero de 2022, en un partido disputado entre España y Alemania en Middlesbrough y correspondiente a la primera jornada de la Arnold Clarck Cup. Aquel encuentro acabó 1-1 y ha sido el duelo entre ambas potencias en la que España ha estado más cerca de llevarse la victoria. Alexia marcó el primer tanto del partido en el minuto 46, aprovechando un pase filtrado de Aitana Bonmatí y un error de Lena Oberdorf en el despeje para meter la puntera de la bota y superar a la meta rival. Luego replicaría Alemania por medio de Lea Schüller anotando en el minuto 88 el empate definitivo tras recibir un balón en el interior del área y batir a Sandra Paños con un disparo cruzado.
Aquel partido fue el número 94 para Alexia de los 135 que suma con la selección —es la jugadora con más internacionalidades de la historia— y el gol 24 de los 37 que atesora en estos momentos. La de Mollet del Vallès lucía el número ‘14’ a la espalda en honor a su amiga Virginia Torrecilla, que en aquella época luchaba contra un cáncer (al que ganó, aunque no pudo volver a jugar con la selección). “Fue algo muy bonito, un detalle por su parte que nunca olvidaré. Verla jugar con el ‘14’ fue muy emotivo aunque no pudiera conseguir ningún título con esa camiseta”, comenta la balear, analista de la Eurocopa en RadioMARCA.

La zamarra de aquel día terminaría poco después en las vitrinas del Museo FIFA, aunque la protagonista no recuerda ni siquiera qué camino recorrió hasta llegar hasta ahí. “El partido sí lo recuerdo. Marqué, me cambiaron a poco de terminar el partido y nos empataron cuando parecía que por fin íbamos a ganar a Alemania”, rememora.
Más allá de la camiseta de una leyenda y dos veces Balón de Oro como Alexia, es más que recomendable la visita a un Museo que cuenta con una exposición permanente con una vitrina circular de 35 metros que muestra las camisetas nacionales de los 211 países miembros y una línea del tiempo de 13 metros que recorre la historia del fútbol desde sus orígenes hasta hoy. Cuenta con un cine 180º, un espacio dedicado al eSports y videojuegos FIFA, un Sportsbar, una biblioteca y salas de conferencias o una zona de ocio donde está la máquina de pinball futbolístico más grande del mundo.
