Jetzt ist Schluss! Handball-Koloss Patrick „Bam-Bam“ Wiencek (34) hängt die Schuhe an den Nagel. Doch bevor er endgültig „Tschüss“ sagt, gibt es noch ein letztes großes Spektakel: Am Freitag feiert der Kreisläufer sein Abschiedsspiel in der Kieler Wunderino Arena.
Der Streamingdienst Dyn überträgt das Spiel ab 18.15 Uhr live. Finn-Ole Martins moderiert, kommentiert wird die Partie von Lennart Wilken-Johannes.

Dyn-Manager Marcel Wontorra sagt: „Patrick Wiencek hat über viele Jahre hinweg den deutschen Handball geprägt – als Leistungsträger, Identifikationsfigur und Publikumsliebling.“ Für Handball-Fans sei das Abschiedsspiel ein echtes Highlight vor dem Bundesliga-Start.
„Bam-Bam“ sagt Bye-bye!
Seit 2012 spielte Wiencek für den THW Kiel, wurde 2020 Champions-League-Sieger, holte sechs Meisterschaften, fünf DHB-Pokale, sieben Supercups und den EHF-Cup. Zuvor lief er in der Bundesliga für den VfL Gummersbach und TUSEM Essen auf.
Im Nationaltrikot wurde er 2009 U21-Weltmeister und holte bei Olympia 2016 in Rio Bronze. Die EM 2016 musste er verletzt verpassen. Trotzdem bleibt Wiencek einer der erfolgreichsten deutschen Kreisläufer.

Beim Abschiedsspiel tritt „Piet & Friends“ gegen den neuen THW-Kader an – mit jeder Menge Prominenz. Mit dabei sind unter anderem Marcus Ahlm, Rene Toft Hansen, Dominik Klein, Steffen Weinhold, Christian Zeitz, Niclas Ekberg, Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson und Tobias Reichmann.
Im Tor stehen Silvio Heinevetter, Nikolas Katsigiannis – und auch Niklas Landin wird erwartet, wenn auch nicht aktiv. Samir Bellahcene musste absagen. Heinevetter und Wiencek gewannen gemeinsam Olympia-Bronze, Katsigiannis stand 2015/16 mit ihm beim THW im Tor.
Auch im Rückraum tauchen alte Bekannte auf: Pavel Horak, Karl Wallinius, Miha Zarabec und Lukas Nilsson. Julian Köster (zukünftig THW) und Wienceks Bruder David (Ahlener SG) sind ebenfalls dabei. Unterstützung für die Linkshänder gibt es von Marko Vujin und Michael Müller.
Der THW erinnert: „Es waren auch die Offensiv-Sperren von Patrick Wiencek, die Vujin 2014 zum bis dato letzten Bundesliga-Torschützenkönig in Diensten des THW Kiel werden ließen.“

Überraschung an der Seitenlinie: Wiencek setzt nicht nur auf Bundestrainer Alfred Gislason, sondern auch auf Krzysztof Szargiej – zuletzt Coach beim Fünftligisten HSV Dümpten!
Wiencek begründet seine Wahl so: „Der, der viel an mich geglaubt hat, war Krzysztof Szargiej, mein Trainer bei TUSEM Essen. Er hat mir den Weg aufgezeigt. Wir hatten eine ähnliche Mentalität, er hat zwei-, dreimal die Woche mit mir eine Stunde zusätzlich trainiert.“
Neben dem Sport gibt es auch Entertainment: Comedian Wolfgang Trepper (früher Manager beim OSC Rheinhausen), DJ Flo Motion (u. a. Lollapalooza, Rock am Ring), der Fanfarenzug des TSV Pansdorf und die Showgruppe „Tanzen in Kiel“ sorgen für Stimmung.
Moderiert wird der Abend von Dyn-Moderatorin Anett Sattler und Radio-Bob-Moderator Maschine. Ein würdiger Rahmen für einen ganz Großen des Handballs.
