While many were expecting a possible rematch with Floyd Mayweather or a clash with Gervonta Davis, an unexpected name has emerged as the frontrunner: Rolando “Rolly” Romero. Pacquiao’s own advisor, Sean Gibbons, has pointed to him as the favorite, news that the young boxer has welcomed with enthusiasm.
Romero, who recently defeated Ryan Garcia at the Fatal Fury event in May, has expressed his desire to face the Filipino legend. “A Hall of Famer on my resume, who wouldn’t want that? That’s the easiest way to get into the Hall of Fame, right?” Romero told boxingscene on Monday, showing his clear ambition.

Manny Pacquiao’s comeback fight, criticized by some and celebrated by others, saw him face Barrios, 16 years his junior. Although he did not get the victory according to the judges, numerous analysts and boxers saw him win on their scorecards, which underlines that despite his age, “PacMan” still retains his speed and skills. If he had achieved victory, he would have become the second oldest boxer in history to win a major world title.
As he left the arena after the fight, Manny Pacquiao was intercepted by reporters. Despite the harassment and questions, the Filipino icon kept his answers brief. When asked if he would fight again, the champion simply gave a thumbs up, confirming his intention to return to the ring.

After his long-awaited comeback fight, Manny Pacquiao took some time to thank all the support he received via social media. “Thank you, Lord, for keeping us safe in the ring. I want to thank my wife, my children, my family, my team and everyone who supported me during this fight.”
Pacquiao was also humble and dedicated words to Barrios. “To Mario Barrios, you are a true warrior. It was an honor to share the ring with you. Even after all these years, I felt great in the ring. I thank God for the strength and grace to continue competing at this level,” he said
Pacquiao seems very motivated to continue his boxing career despite his age and while for now there are only rumors, the Filipino is ready for his next challenge.
