Marc-André ter Stegen, do Barcelona, anunciou, nesta quinta-feira, que passará por uma nova cirurgia nas costas. O goleiro de 33 anos operou o local em dezembro de 2023, mas não se livrou das dores e os médicos do clube catalão optaram por realizar uma nova operação na coluna do jogador alemão.
Depois da última cirurgia nas costas, Ter Stegen voltou aos gramados após 66 dias, um pouco mais de dois meses. No entanto, desta vez, os médicos do clube catalão acreditam que serão necessários cerca de três meses, por precaução, para não correr riscos de uma nova lesão.
Na temporada passada, Ter Stegen conviveu com lesões e, inclusive, sofreu uma ruptura completa do tendão patelar do joelho direito e ficou quase oito meses afastado dos gramados. Ele entrou em campo apenas nove vezes.
Antes da nova cirurgia de Ter Stegen ser confirmada, o Barcelona já estava se reforçando para a próxima temporada. O clube catalão contratou Joan García por 25 milhões de euros (cerca de R$ 160 milhões, na cotação atual) e renovou o contrato de Szczesny. O arqueiro Iñaki Peña também está no elenco espanhol.

Levo com grande orgulho as cores e a camisa do FC Barcelona, seja dentro de campo ou fora dele, tanto nos momentos de sucesso quanto nos mais difíceis. Hoje é um dia difícil para mim, pessoalmente.
Fisicamente e atleticamente, sinto-me em muito boa forma, embora, infelizmente, não esteja livre de dores. Após conversas intensas com a equipe médica do FC Barcelona e especialistas externos, o caminho mais rápido e seguro para uma recuperação completa é uma cirurgia na coluna.
Depois da minha última operação nas costas, voltei aos gramados após 66 dias, quase dois meses; desta vez, os médicos acreditam que serão necessários cerca de três meses, por precaução, para não correr riscos.
Emocionalmente, dói muito não poder apoiar a equipe durante esse tempo, mas felizmente a reabilitação é suportável e o caminho de volta já está traçado.
