When NFL players report for training camp each summer, it’s all business-early mornings, late nights, endless reps, and team bonding under a microscope. But off the field, their partners are often left juggling real life on their own, and that reality rarely gets airtime.
Rochelle Searight, wife of San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, recently took to TikTok to explain why this time of year sends NFL WAGs into what she calls a “frenzy.” The beauty influencer and mom of one gave fans an unfiltered look at the chaos behind the curtain.

“People always ask why we’re complaining online,”Searight said in the viral video. “Well, let me break it down.” According to her, players are locked into intense, regulated schedules, staying in hotels and facing heavy fines if they leave-even for family. “It’s serious. It’s not just practice-it’s total lockdown.”

What makes it even harder? Every partner’s situation is different. “Some of us don’t even live in the city the team’s based in during camp,”Searight said. “You’re doing life solo, sometimes in a different state, and your person is basically unreachable.”
For Searight, who shares a 4-year-old son with Aiyuk, that means managing an energetic toddler on her own while Aiyuk trains for the season. “He has never slept. And he’s off the walls,”she joked. “Now I’m parenting full-time with no backup.”
And for players still fighting for a roster spot, there’s an added layer of stress-uncertainty. “Some of these guys won’t even make the team they’re training with. If they get signed somewhere else, the family has to move. Fast.”
Aiyuk, now on a fresh $120 million contract with $76 million guaranteed, is locked in with San Francisco-but many of his teammates aren’t as secure. The stakes are sky-high for them, and that pressure trickles down to their families.
Searight says social media becomes a form of therapy. “It’s just a fun distraction for us. Our men aren’t our whole personalities-but when they’re gone for weeks, posting content helps us stay sane.”
The 49ers kick off their 2025 season against the Seahawks on September 7. Until then, for Searight and many other NFL partners, it’s about surviving training camp one chaotic day at a time.
