De la Cruz é liberado pelo Flamengo para ir ao Uruguai após polêmica com médico

Após ser envolvido na polêmica das críticas feitas por José Luiz Runco, médico demitido do Flamengo na última quarta-feira, Nico de la Cruz foi liberado pelo clube para passar o fim de semana com a família no Uruguai.

O volante uruguaio não participa do treinamento desta sexta-feira no Ninho do Urubu e está fora do jogo contra o Atlético-MG, às 20h30 deste domingo, pela 17ª rodada do Brasileirão.

De la Cruz retornará ao CT na segunda-feira. Segundo o clube, a liberação se dá para que o jogador “esfrie a cabeça” após dias difíceis.

Na última terça-feira, vazou uma mensagem enviada por Runco em um grupo de WhatsApp com 71 integrantes da política rubro-negra. O então chefe do departamento médico do Flamengo afirmou que De la Cruz tem uma “lesão crônica e irreparável” no joelho e questionou sua contratação, feita no início de 2023.

“Prezado João. Boa tarde. Vou tentar passar a situação do De la Cruz. Jogador comprado em outra gestão, sem a menor condição, pois apresenta uma lesão crônica e irreparável no joelho direito, e uma lesão também no joelho esquerdo. Como somos bípedes, temos dificuldades de equilíbrio e equilíbrio muscular se algum membro já estiver afetado. Estamos tentando fazer o possível para que ele possa participar, mas é muito complicado. E, quanto a venda, só se houver algum clube que tenha interesse por outro motivo e não para jogar futebol competitivo. Atenciosamente”, escreveu Runco.

A declaração de Runco sobre a condição física de De la Cruz ecoou negativamente nos bastidores do clube. Tanto jogadores, quanto integrantes da comissão técnica e até dirigentes se irritaram com o conteúdo do texto do chefe do DM. Pouco mais de 24 horas, ele foi demitido.

De la Cruz apresenta uma inflamação no joelho esquerdo e por isso foi desfalque nas vitórias contra Fluminense e Bragantino, ambas pelo Brasileirão. O objetivo do departamento médico do futebol é preservar o uruguaio para que ele retorne ao bom nível apresentado no primeiro semestre.

— A gente entende que ele teve um primeiro semestre muito bom, uma sequência que talvez (tenha sido) a melhor no Flamengo. Só que depois de uma lesão traumática (entorse no joelho esquerdo) no mês de maio, que é inerente a qualquer atleta, ele, infelizmente, teve esse período de afastamento maior. Isso fez com que a gente, na tentativa de fazer com que ele tenha a mesma sequência do primeiro semestre, a gente optou por retirá-lo desses próximos jogos. Fazer um trabalho especializado com ele para que consiga, nos próximos desafios, ter o desempenho tão bom quanto o do primeiro semestre — revelou o médico Luiz Macedo, do Flamengo.
