Details are slowly beginning to surface surrounding the events leading to the passing of the professional athlete, including from officers who responded to the incident around 10am on Thursday.
According to Nate Burnside, law enforcement and emergency personnel were dispatched to Hogan‘s residence on El Dorado Avenue shortly following a medical emergency call.
“Just before 10 a.m. today, Clearwater Fire and Rescue, along with the Clearwater Police Department, responded to a house in the 1,000 block of El Dorado Avenue for a medical-related call,” Burnside stated. “It was discovered at the time that Terry Bollea, also known as Hulk Hogan, was experiencing a serious medical-related issue.
“Personnel provided medical treatment at that time and transported Mr. Bollea to Morton Plant Hospital, where he died at 11.17 a.m. There are no signs of foul play or suspicious activity related to this call for service at this time.
He added that the department is offering support to Hogan‘s family during this period and urged the public to respect their privacy. He is survived by two children and his wife, Sky Daily.
The Clearwater Police Department emphasized that no further details would be released at this time and that any public records requests should be submitted through proper channels.
“Our personnel is providing the family with the necessary resources,” Burnside reiterated. “I’m strongly encouraging everyone to keep the family in their thoughts and respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
Health concerns had mounted prior to Hulk Hogan death
In recent months, concerns about Hogan‘s health had been mounting. The former WWE superstar had undergone neck surgery in May, followed by what was described as a “pretty serious” heart procedure in June.
The revelations came from radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge, a longtime friend, who previously indicated that Hogan had been struggling physically and required assistance with mobility.
Despite his declining health, the news of his death caught many off guard. Known globally for his unmistakable charisma and towering presence, Hogan had become synonymous with the golden era of professional wrestling.
His persona helped transform WWE from a regional attraction into a global entertainment powerhouse during the 1980s and 1990s, an impact that is still felt to this day.
Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice-once individually and once as a member of the nWo faction and as the wrestling community mourns one of its most defining figures, fans and colleagues alike reflect on a man who helped shape the sport’s identity for decades.
