A fase do Fluminense não é nada boa. Em menos de um mês, a equipe dava orgulho aos seus torcedores pela grande participação na Copa do Mundo de Clubes da Fifa. Mas com quatro derrotas consecutivas no Campeonato Brasileiro, as críticas e as contestações ao trabalho do técnico Renato Gaúcho estão aparecendo.
Para dar a volta por cima e voltar a ter boas atuações dentro da temporada, o Flu tem à disposição a janela de transferências. Até o dia 2 de setembro, novos jogadores podem ser registrados. Desde que não tenham feito sete partidas por outro clube no Campeonato Brasileiro, as contratações podem atuar no torneio nacional.

No mercado da bola, recentemente surgiu o rumor de que o Fluminense está de olho na contratação do atacante Vitinho, que trabalhou com Renato Gaúcho no rival Flamengo. Ainda falando da janela, o Tricolor teria aberto conversas com o atacante Lucas Ribeiro, de 26 anos.
O jogador se destacou com a camisa do Mamelodi Sundowns na Copa do Mundo de Clubes. Inclusive, o time da África do Sul jogou contra o Fluminense. De acordo com a informação do jornalista Victor Lessa, em seu perfil no X, o antigo Twitter, Lucas está interessado em jogar no futebol brasileiro, onde nunca atuou profissionalmente.
Na última temporada, o atacante teve ótimos números: foram 21 gols marcados e 13 assistências em 50 jogos com a camisa da equipe sul-africana. Na Europa, Lucas Ribeiro atuou em várias equipes da Bélgica até acertar com o Mamelodi Suwdowns. Canhoto, o atacante joga pelo lado direito de campo, podendo ser escalado também como segundo atacante.
