With a decorated college career behind him, two-way player Travis Hunter was selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars when they moved up from fifth to second in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Before the Draft, Travis had stated that he would not play for a team that did not allow him to play both ways, as a cornerback and wide receiver, and the Jaguars would not be the ones to limit him.

Now that all NFL training camps have begun, at the Miller Electric Center facilities, Hunter has stood out for his curious way of training.

The truth is that behind the talent the rookie has shown, one question remained: how would the Jaguars use Hunter’s versatility?
After Sunday’s practices, it was clear that he worked more on defense than on offense. In fact, of the 24 plays he made, all were exploring his skills as a cornerback, according to ESPN’s Michael DiRocco.
However, Hunter‘s wish is coming true, as he has been on the field for a total of 83 plays, 36 of which were on offense and 47 on defense.
And it’s no coincidence that the team wants to take advantage of his bidirectionality. After all, Travis won the Bednarik Award for best defender and the Biletnikoff Award for best receiver in the country.
In addition, he ended his career with the Colorado Buffaloes with nearly 2,000 receiving yards, 21 total touchdowns, and seven interceptions, playing on both sides of the ball.
Now, under the guidance of Liam Coen and the Jaguars, he is expected to continue to prove himself and become a key player on the team.
