The former Colorado Buffaloes player and son of Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders knows that this is one of his last chances to make it in the NFL, and he has not taken training camp for granted after going undrafted.
The social media superstar is viewed as a hard-hitting safety who plays with good aggression but lacks consistency and playmaking traits. Shilo, according to NFL scouts, lacks ideal range and instincts to play high safety, but he has enough vision and aggression to compete as a down safety.

The undrafted rookie Shilo Sanders‘ turning heads in Tampa Bay. The son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion “Prime Time” Sanders, made a big statement during the Buccaneers’ training session this week, which goes to show how important it’s for the player to make it in the final 53-man roster.

After forcing a pass breakup, Shilo broke out his dad’s iconic “Prime Time” dance, right in front of the crowd. The moment went viral, with fans praising both the swagger and the performance, something that they would love to see during the regular season.
While top draft picks draw the spotlight, it’s Shilo who’s generating buzz with his energy, confidence, and growing presence on defense. If this keeps up, the Bucs may have found a hidden gem. Let’s just hope that the gem can hit the field and make the team.
Shilo Sanders states that he’s a competitor
Shilo Sanders didn’t hold anything back after being called by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, telling the reporters that he’s a true competitor who wants to prove that he belongs in the NFL. The safety also showed his appreciation for the franchise that’s giving him a chance.
Following stops at South Carolina and Jackson State, Shilo totaled 134 tackles, five pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and a pick-six during his two seasons with the Colorado Buffaloes, under Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders‘ guidance and leadership.
“My selling point to teams and why they should draft me? If you want a safety that’s going to play like a safety, that’s going to be physical, be a leader in the secondary, take coaching, be an extension of the defensive coordinator, do my job and everything I’m supposed to do, then I’m the guy,” Shilo said before going undrafted. He’s stubbornd and determined to prove his point, and that’s great news for football fans.
