A resurfaced video from 2022 shows Sanders joking with Hunter during their Jackson State stint. “I think he [Hunter] done got married on us and ain’t told nobody,” Sanders said with a grin.
Hunter laughed, replying, “Not yet coach.” But Sanders quickly followed with a line that has since gone viral: “Let me know because imma do your prenup for you. It’s going to be about this thick,” he said, stacking his hands high as the room erupted.
At the time, it was typical Sanders humor laced with life lessons. Two years later, the clip is being shared widely after rumors surfaced that Hunter and his wife, Leanna, are considering a split just two months after tying the knot.
Emotional video sparks speculation and revives old warning
The conversation caught fire after Leanna Lenee posted an emotional video of herself crying in a bathroom, filmed last December during a break from social media.
The clip included a caption that left fans guessing: “I wish I could go back and hug December me. Because oh baby, God was about to change your heart in the most important and beautiful way.”
YouTuber IsmokeHiphop, who has been covering the situation, claimed the couple is “reportedly considering a divorce after only two months of marriage.” He added his own perspective on the public fallout: “Now, if this true or not, I just want Travis to know it’s always going to be your fault.”
He doubled down on the idea that perception matters, saying, “No matter what this woman is going through at the cost of her own action, the world and everybody, including the people who are defending you, they’re going to blame you.”
The remarks struck a chord with many, aligning almost perfectly with Sanders‘ original warning to Hunter about life beyond football. Fans have been quick to point out that Sanders has long taught his players that managing public perception is as critical as handling the spotlight on game day.
