Travis Kelce might be the king of cool every time he steps onto the field, but off it? Well, things got a bit more nerve-racking. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end traded his cleats for popcorn as he hosted an exclusive early screening of Happy Gilmore 2, where he makes a cameo. But the twist this time was that instead of reading defenses, he was reading the room-and his teammates’ reactions-hoping for cheers instead of jeers.
When football meets film: Kelce brings the laughs-and the snacks
This wasn’t just a casual movie night. Kelce teamed up with Netflix to give his teammates a sneak peek at Adam Sandler’s much-anticipated sequel. But the vibe was more Hollywood premiere than locker room hang. Kelce, clearly feeling the pressure, was seen pacing before the movie started, passing out snacks and trying to settle his nerves. He’s used to performing under the bright lights-but this was a different kind of spotlight.
It’s not the first time Kelce’s been in front of a camera, but this project felt personal. His role in Happy Gilmore 2 may be small-he plays a waiter-but the chance to appear alongside comedy legend Adam Sandler was clearly a big deal for the Super Bowl champ. And when the lights dimmed, the tight end who usually brings the hits on Sundays was hoping to land laughs instead.
The Chiefs’ official X account shared a video of the screening, capturing teammates cracking up while watching the film. No awkward silence, no harsh critiques-just good vibes and genuine support. It turns out the locker room bond runs deeper than just football.

The Cleveland Browns trimmed their quarterback room to four active players following the release of Tyler Huntley, according to Adam Schefter. Cleveland "has been planning to keep its other four" quarterbacks. This comes after Huntley led the Browns on a game-winning drive during the preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams after substituting into the game with in place of Shedeur Sanders.Huntley signed with the Browns at the start of preseason following Kenny Pickett's hamstring injury to ensure Cleveland had enough quarterback options. Huntley, 27, spent last training camp with Cleveland before failing to make the 53-man roster.
