Dass der Ex-Bundestrainer bei den Katalanen keine Angst hat, junge Talente zu befördern, ist kein Geheimnis. Jetzt setzt Barça große Hoffnungen auf das nächste Eigengewächs der Talentschmiede La Masia.
[–>Beim Testspiel in Japan gegen Vissel Kobe (3:1) kam Offensivspieler Dro Fernandez (17) erstmals zum Einsatz und konnte bei seinem Debüt glänzen. Acht Minuten nach seiner Einwechslung erzielte er direkt sein erstes Tor.
Nach dem Spiel enthüllte er, was Flick ihm vor seinem ersten Spiel für die Profis mitgegeben hat: „Als ich eingewechselt wurde, hat Hansi mir gesagt, ich soll es einfach genießen und das tun, was ich mit dem Ball kann. Alle haben mir gratuliert und waren glücklich für mich. Als ich das Tor erzielte, konnte ich es kaum glauben. Ich wusste nicht einmal, wie ich jubeln sollte.“

Aber wer ist das nächste Barça-Talent?
Fernandez wurde 2008 als Sohn einer philippinischen Mutter und eines spanischen Vaters in Galicien geboren. Er durchlief erst die Jugend von ED Val Minor, bevor er 2022 zu Barcelona in die Talentschmiede wechselte. Mit der Barça-Jugend gewann er in der vergangenen Saison die Uefa Youth League. Der U17-Nationalspieler kann sowohl im offensiven Mittelfeld als auch auf der linken Außenbahn spielen und wird vor allem wegen seiner Spielübersicht und seiner technischen Fähigkeiten gefeiert.
Vor zwei Wochen hat Flick den Youngster ins Training der ersten Mannschaft geholt. Dort konnte Fernandez direkt überzeugen. Es bleibt abzuwarten, ob er die große Überraschung der neuen Saison wird.

Wer sein großes Idol ist? Fernandez nach seinem Debüt: „Ich denke, was Pedri auf dem Platz macht, ist spektakulär, und ich bewundere ihn sehr.“
Großes Lob gab es zuletzt auch von seinen Ex-Trainern. Javi Roxo and Luis Perez im Gespräch mit „Sport“: „Auch wenn einige ihn mit Pedri vergleichen, erinnert mich Dro wegen seiner Vision und seines großen Talents eher an Iniesta.“
