Große Sorge um die ehemalige Biathlon-Königin Laura Dahlmeier. Die 31-Jährige ist bei einer Expedition im pakistanischen Karakorum-Gebirge schwer verunglückt.
Ihr Management teilt dem ZDF mit: „Laura Dahlmeier war am 28. Juli mit ihrer Seilpartnerin im alpinen Stil unterwegs, als sie von Steinschlag erfasst wurde. Der Unfall geschah gegen Mittag Ortszeit auf rund 5.700 Metern. Die Seilpartnerin setzte sofort einen Notruf ab, der Rettungseinsatz wurde umgehend eingeleitet.“
Und weiter: „Aufgrund der Abgeschiedenheit des Gebiets konnte ein Rettungshubschrauber die Unfallstelle erst am Morgen des 29. Juli erreichen. Ein internationales Bergrettungsteam koordiniert derzeit die Bergung. Dabei werden sie von erfahrenen internationalen Bergsteiger:innen unterstützt, die sich in der Region befinden.“
Bei einem Hubschrauber-Überflug sei festgestellt worden, dass sie mindestens schwer verletzt sei. Lebenszeichen seien nicht zu erkennen gewesen.
In der Mitteilung des Managements heißt es weiter, dass weitere Informationen bereitgestellt werden, sobald gesicherte Erkenntnisse vorliegen.
Dahlmeier gewann bei den Olympischen Winterspielen in Pyeongchang zwei Gold-Medaillen sowie einmal Bronze. Sie feierte in ihrer Karriere insgesamt 33 Weltcup-Siege, 20 davon in Einzelrennen. Ihre Bilanz bei Weltmeisterschaften: siebenmal Gold, dreimal Silber, fünfmal Bronze.

The New Orleans Saints aren't going anywhere. On Thursday, the Saints announced that they had signed a 10-year lease extension to continue to play at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans through 2035. The Saints have been playing in the Superdome since 1975, and team owner Gayle Benson revealed that she had been working on this deal with the city for quite some time. "Discussions about this agreement have spanned two administrations, a global pandemic and Hurricane Ida," Benson said, via the Saints' official website.
