Pesquisa O GLOBO/Ipsos-Ipec: Flamengo tem torcida mais fanática, e corintianos e vascaínos vivem nos extremos; entenda

A relação de Raísa Nobre com o Vasco é de extremos. A torcedora sai de casa quase sempre exibindo o escudo do clube numa roupa ou acessório. O time é o objeto principal de sua atenção praticamente desde quando acorda até a hora de dormir. Uma devoção que cobra seu preço. O cruz-maltino é também sua principal fonte de angústia.

— O Vasco precisa muito da gente, e isso nos consome ao longo dos dias, meses, anos. E tem essa coisa de que, se não estivermos presentes, não lotarmos os estádios, a situação vai piorar cada vez mais. É tipo um relacionamento abusivo — compara a barbeira, referindo-se à má fase que se instalou há mais de dez anos:

— Afeta demais. Muito mais do que gostaríamos. Quanto mais o Vasco se afunda, mais você vai afundando junto. Todo mundo sente muito, chora. É como se fosse um familiar.

O sentimento duplo de Raísa é captado pela “Pesquisa O GLOBO/ Ipsos-Ipec”, que mapeou a paixão do torcedor e como ele é engajado com seu clube. Ela mostra aqueles que se consideram mais e menos fanáticos e revela semelhanças e diferenças entre as cinco maiores torcidas do país (Flamengo, Corinthians, Palmeira, São Paulo e Vasco, as únicas que atingiram uma base amostral mínima de entrevistados para analisar os dados com margem segura de erro).

A pesquisa pediu ao torcedor que avaliasse, com notas de 0 a 10, o seu nível de fanatismo pelo clube do coração. E perguntou a eles a frequência com que assistem a jogos (no estádio ou por transmissão), deixam de fazer algo importante para ver partidas, usam roupas ou acessórios temáticos, consomem notícias sobre o time e se abalam com derrotas.

Os flamenguistas se destacaram com a maior média de fanatismo (6,6). Um índice sustentado pelo percentual expressivo de rubro-negros que escolheram as notas mais altas (9 e 10). São também eles os que mais usam produtos ligados ao clube e consomem notícias sobre o time.

A boa fase vivida pelo Flamengo, que disputa os principais títulos por anos seguidos desde 2019, ajuda a entender essa euforia. Mas para João Ricardo Cozac, presidente da Associação Paulista da Psicologia do Esporte, a explicação vai além.

— Estamos diante de um fenômeno que vai além da atual boa fase do clube: falamos de autoimagem coletiva fortalecida. A sequência de títulos recentes, aliada à enorme visibilidade midiática, retroalimenta a paixão. O torcedor não apenas ama: ele se vê refletido no sucesso, veste a camisa como símbolo de orgulho e projeta no clube uma extensão de si mesmo.

Corinthians e Vasco: Emoções divididas

Corintianos e vascaínos também apresentam alto índice de fanatismo. Torcedores dos dois clubes escolheram em peso as notas mais altas (9 e 10). Porém, dentro de cada torcida também há uma parcela significativa dos que responderam com as notas mais baixas (0 a 4). No caso dos cruz-maltinos, praticamente não há diferença entre a fatia dos mais fanáticos e a dos mais ocasionais (respectivamente, 31,7% e 31,6%).

Apesar da má fase nos últimos anos, os corintianos são os que mais responderam “sempre” ou “frequentemente” à pergunta sobre a frequência com que acompanham jogos. Eles ainda aparecem em segundo quando o assunto é usar roupas ou acessórios e consumir notícias do clube. A torcida, que cresceu durante o famoso jejum de 23 anos sem títulos (entre 1954 e 1977), mostra que não perdeu a resiliência.

— Aprendi a ler para conseguir comentar com meu avô as escalações do Corinthians que ele lia no jornal — recorda a empresária Nayara Perone, que se identifica nas redes sociais com o nome “Corinthiana” e não perde um jogo do clube em São Paulo: — Todas as minhas decisões foram baseadas em ser torcedora, ter um estilo de vida de arquibancada. Levo isso como uma religião.

Os vascaínos, por sua vez, parecem ter sentido mais o golpe após uma década de má fase. Do total de cruz-maltinos entrevistados, o percentual que respondeu “sempre” ou “frequentemente” à pergunta sobre a frequência com que acompanham as partidas é apenas o quinto. Eles também são os que mais se abalam com derrotas. Ainda assim, lideram entre os que deixam de fazer algo para ver o time jogar. Uma suposta contradição, mas que faz sentido para quem ama e sofre ao mesmo tempo.

— Isso reflete a instabilidade emocional provocada por um histórico de frustrações e crises institucionais. Torcedores se sentem órfãos em momentos difíceis. Mas não abandonam a identidade — reflete Cozac.

Palmeiras e São Paulo: estabilidade emocional

Muito longe desse turbilhão de emoções parecem estar os torcedores de Palmeiras e São Paulo. Os alviverdes são os únicos cuja maior parcela não escolheu nem as maiores e nem as menores notas para avaliar seu nível de fanatismo. A maior fatia ficou com o “5” e o “6”, o que os caracteriza como regulares. Já os tricolores registraram uma espécie de “empate técnico” entre as notas escolhidas.

Esta sobriedade se reflete nas demais perguntas. Em nenhuma delas, torcedores dos dois clubes estão entre os que mais declararam frequência alta nas questões propostas na pesquisa. Pelo contrário. Aparecem na quinta colocação em diversas delas. Dos cinco, os palmeirenses são os que menos usam roupas ou acessórios e se abalam com derrotas. Já os são-paulinos são os que menos deixam de fazer algo para ver o time.

Curiosamente, os clubes vivem momentos distintos. No entanto, seja pela constância de vitórias ou pelo afastamento da briga por títulos, ambos exibem o mesmo estado de espírito.

— A segurança em vencer com frequência diminui o impacto emocional, o que não quer dizer falta de amor. Mas, sim, regulação afetiva por previsibilidade de sucesso — explica Cozac sobre a situação dos palmeirenses. — No São Paulo, por outro lado, a fase morna e a ausência de grandes campanhas resultam em um “modo banho-maria” emocional: sem euforia, mas também sem distanciamento.

A pesquisa foi realizada pela Ipsos-Ipec entre 5 e 9 de junho de 2025. Foram entrevistadas 2000 pessoas com 16 anos ou mais em 132 municípios brasileiros. Com nível de confiança de 95%, a margem de erro estimada para o total da amostra é de 2,2 pontos percentuais. Em alguns recortes, a soma pode ser maior que 100% porque foram considerados dois times como preferência.
