Recently, however, team fans received an update providing some clarity on the situation of the former Ohio State player.

Team owner speaks on Quinshon Judkins’ situation
Jimmy Haslam, the Browns’ owner, responded to questions from reporters attending the training camp. When asked about Judkins, Haslam told those present that the organization is “cautiously optimistic” that at some point, the running back will sign and play for Cleveland.
“I do [expect Judkins to sign], but we all understand with the process of the law, and the process of law does not move quickly,” Haslam said. “But we are cautiously optimistic.”
Additionally, the owner himself noted that there was nothing in the player’s history that caused concern.
“Let’s go back and look at Quinshon, let’s look at Devin, let’s look at Michael Hall, and there was, to the best of my knowledge… there was nothing in their backgrounds that showed anything like this,” Haslam declared.

Quinshon Judkins was one of the best running backs available in the 2025 draft class, having rushed for over 1,000 yards with the Ohio State Buckeyes during the past season. It was Andrew Berry who decided to use the 36th overall pick to bring him to the organization.
Judkins, at this moment, remains one of the few players from his draft class who has not yet signed his rookie contract and is not participating in the team’s training camp.
