Die Auf-und-Ab-Karriere von Adrien Rabiot (30). Jetzt spricht seine Mutter und Beraterin über Ex-Klubs und geplatzte Transfers.

Beraterin Véronique Rabiot gegenüber der französischen Zeitung „L‘Equipe“: „Solange mein Sohn mir keine Vorwürfe macht, ist es egal. Es ist leicht zu sagen, dass ich ein Narr bin und dass er eine bessere Karriere gemacht hätte, wenn er Ratschläge von anderen bekommen hätte.“ Immer wieder gab es Vorwürfe gegen sie, Inkompetenz wurde ihr nachgesagt.

[–>Klar ist: Rabiot galt bereits als großer Star, sein Marktwert stieg im Sommer 2018 auf 50 Mio. Euro (Quelle transfermarkt.de). Danach ging es bergab, er verließ Paris Saint-Germain, wechselte 2019 zu Juventus Turin. 2024 war er zwei Monate vereinslos, schloss sich dann Olympique Marseille an. Immer wechselte er ohne eine Ablösesumme.

Rabiot Mutter: „Meine Priorität ist Adrien. Ich möchte nur, dass er die Karriere macht, die er sich wünscht. Als er nach Marseille ging, sagten die Leute: ‚Er hätte zu einem großen Verein gehen sollen.‘ Er hatte andere Angebote. Aber er wollte nach Marseille.“

2022 stand auch ein Wechsel nach England zu Manchester United zur Debatte. Die Klubs waren sich bereits einig über eine Ablöse, 15 Mio. Euro sollte er kosten. Doch der Deal platzte noch. Beraterin Véronique: „In diesem Jahr war Adrien bereit, Juve, das sich für die Champions League qualifiziert hatte, zu verlassen und zu Manchester zu gehen, das das nicht geschafft hatte. Wir haben die Bedingungen besprochen und am Ende sagten sie mir: ‚Wenn wir uns am Ende der nächsten Saison nicht für die Champions League qualifizieren, wird Adriens Gehalt gekürzt.‘“

Und weiter: „Ich fand das ziemlich übertrieben und sehr respektlos! Ich sagte: ‚Wir stoppen.‘ Sie dachten, es sei eine Strategie, um mehr zu bekommen. Aber nein, es war eine Frage der Prinzipien, nicht des Geldes. Offensichtlich hat es sie überrascht. Sie sind das nicht gewohnt.“

Bereut sie heute etwas? Die Mutter des ehemaligen PSG-Offensifstars: „Ich bereue nie etwas. Wenn ich Entscheidungen treffe, übernehme ich die Verantwortung dafür. Ich habe es wahrscheinlich ein paar Mal vermasselt. Aber man kann es immer wieder gutmachen, es ist nie ganz vorbei.“ Rabiots Vertrag in Marseille läuft noch bis 2026.
