Bad news to the WWE Universe arrived recently. Vince McMahon, 79, the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), was involved in a serious car crash in Connecticut on July 24.
Due to his old age and the severity of the accident, many WWE fans and people close to him are worried about his health status and the physical consequences he will face as soon as he recovers.

A multiple-car crash happened
According to The New York Post and the Connecticut State Police, McMahon, who was driving a 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed on the Merritt Parkway near exit 43 around 9:22am, rear-ended a 2023 BMW 430. He then later collided against a wooden guardrail in the median. All the debris from the clash went across the road hitting a Ford Focus, who also struck the guardrail.
As soon as emergencies arrived, he was taken to a nearby hospital along the other victims. Luckily, nobody suffered serious injuries, as all drivers had their seatbelts on and their airbags deployed. McMahon was released under a $500 bond and was issued a misdemeanor citation to court for reckless driving and following too closely, despite the severity of the collision. He is meant to appear in Stamford Superior Court on August 26.

Medical experts and law enforcement sources pointed out that McMahon left the crash without live-threatening injuries, but still, concussion or other potential damages remain undisclosed. There are also footages and photographs of the broken final state of his Bentley and the BMW involved.
Tough months for WWE icons
In an unexpected twist of coincidence, the incident took place on the same morning that wresling icon Hulk Hogan passed away at age 71. Just hours after his accident, McMahon paid tribute to him on his social media and referred to him as “the greatest WWE Superstar of all time.”
McMahon’s mind is the main reason why the WWE is what it is today, the biggest sport entertainment company. However, he has not been stranger to controversies (many of them) in the last years. He was ‘forced‘ to resign as WWE CEO during an internal investigation and also stepped down from TKO Group’s board in 2024 after a lawsuit aganst him alleging abuse, something he always strongly denied.
Next steps for the McMahon’s family
He is now stable, healthy and without serious injuries detected. It is still unknown the state of his mental health, as the family have not released any official statement on McMahon’s prognosis. However, accidents like this often comes with post-traumatic stress disorders or other similar effects. Early reports say he will likely be attending to therapy over the coming weeks.
For now, nothing new has come out and everything seems like it went better than expected at first.

I'd rather wait for those quarterbacks until Round 3 in a one-quarterback league.
