ER wurde mit der deutschen Nationalmannschaft 2016 in Polen Handball-Europameister. SIE hat 243 Länderspiele für Deutschland bestritten, war jahrelang eine Kreisläuferin mit Weltklasse-Format und ist seit 2024 Team-Managerin der deutschen Frauen-Nationalmannschaft.
ER ist Tobias Reichmann (37), SIE ist Anja Althaus (42). BEIDE haben jetzt Krach miteinander auf Instagram. Grund ist eine auf dem Portal „handball-world“ erschienene Kolumne von Reichmann, die Althaus auf die Palme bringt.

Es geht um das Reiz-Thema „Equal Pay“. Überschrift von Reichmanns Kolumne: „Hat der Frauenhandball mehr Geld verdient? Klares: Jein!“
Kern-Botschaft von Reichmann: „Bis sich aber neue Geldgeber finden oder ein funktionierender Fördermechanismus etabliert ist, hilft nur eins: Akzeptanz und kleinere Brötchen backen. Dieser Realismus tut weh, ja. Ist das schade? Ja. Ist das super ungerecht? Ja – jede Spielerin hat schließlich denselben Aufwand betrieben wie ihre männlichen Kollegen. Aber ist es trotzdem die Realität? Ja.“
[–>Der Ex-Rechtsaußen meint aber auch: „Mehr Förderung im Spitzensport ist – das zeigt auch diese Diskussion – unvermeidlich. Doch: eine Gießkanne, die gleichermaßen in Männer- und Frauenhandball fließt, wäre unfair – die Männer bräuchten jetzt kein zusätzliches Geld. Was wir brauchen, ist ein fairer Verteilerschlüssel, der gezielt die Lücke zwischen finanzstarken und finanzarmen, zwischen Männer- und Frauen-Teams schließt.“
Althaus reagierte auf die Kolumne ausführlich auf Instagram. „Vielen Dank @tobiasreichmann für dieses perfekte Beispiel, wie ein „Mann“ denkt und vor allem redet. Eine Frau „soll einfach die Realität akzeptieren und kleine Brötchen backen“. Eine Frau soll warten, bis irgendwelche Männer entscheiden, in den Frauenhandball zu investieren?? Richtig?“

Eine Antwort Reichmanns auf dem sozialen Netzwerk ließ nicht lange auf sich warten. Der Ex-Nationalspieler: „Manche Sachen sind überspitzt formuliert.“ Und weiter: „Meiner Meinung nach hat der Frauenhandball definitiv mehr Aufmerksamkeit verdient und gleichzeitig auch eine gerechte Bezahlung für die erbrachte Leistung.“
Deutschland ist übrigens vom 27. November bis 12. Dezember zusammen mit den Niederlanden Gastgeber der 27. Handball-WM der Frauen. Deutsche Spielorte sind Dortmund, Stuttgart und Trier.
