Brasil em ação pela VNL (Divulgação/ Volleyball Nations League)
No último final de semana, a seleção masculina de vôlei foi derrotada na semifinal da VNL masculina para a Polônia, indo disputar o terceiro lugar diante da Eslovênia. Então, o time comandado por Bernardinho fez 3 a 1 e garantiu o bronze, após ter terminado em primeiro lugar na fase classificatória. Esta foi a segunda medalha da seleção masculina nesta competição, tendo vencido o ouro em 2021.
Agora, o próximo compromisso do Brasil no vôlei masculino será logo no Campeonato Mundial, um dos principais torneios da modalidade. A competição masculina será disputada entre os dias 12 e 28 de setembro, nas Filipinas. Esta será a segunda competição da seleção brasileira no ciclo olímpico Los Angeles-2028.
Brasil no Campeonato Mundial de vôlei masculino
Daqui a cerca de um mês, o Brasil entra em quadra novamente pelo Campeonato Mundial, na qual a nossa seleção está no grupo H, ao lado de Sérvia, República Tcheca e China. A estreia será no dia 14 de setembro (domingo), às 10h (de Brasília), diante dos chineses. No dia seguinte, enfrenta a República Tcheca, encerrando a primeira fase contra a Sérvia, no dia 17. Os dois primeiros avançam às oitavas de final.
O Brasil é um dos candidatos ao título Mundial, indo em busca do tetracampeonato, após ter vencido em 2002, 2006 e 2010. Além disso, ficou com a prata em 2014 e 2018. Na última edição, em 2022, ficou com o bronze, tendo uma coincidência em relação a VNL deste ano, já que perdeu na semifinal para a Polônia e superou a Eslovênia na disputa de terceiro lugar.
A última vez que a nossa seleção não ficou entre os quatro primeiros no Mundial de vôlei masculino foi em 1994, quando terminou em quinto lugar. O maior vencedor da competição é a Rússia, que acumula seis ouros, mas não vence desde 1982. A Itália, atual campeã, é a segunda seleção que mais venceu, com quatro conquistas.
VNL deixou boa impressão
Apesar de não ter conseguido chegar na final, o Brasil tinha a Liga das Nações como um torneio preparatório para outras competições, já que o técnico Bernardinho promoveu uma reformulação no elenco, não contando mais com alguns jogadores experientes, como Bruninho, Lucão e Thales, além de ter alguns jovens.
Mesmo tendo um time desacreditado, o Brasil conseguiu fazer uma primeira fase quase perfeita, sendo líder geral, vencendo 11 de 12 partidas que disputou. Na semifinal, então, caiu para uma seleção forte, que é líder do ranking mundial. No fim, tivemos alguns destaques individuais, como o ponteiro Honorato e o líbero Maique, que entrou no time ideal da competição.
