Vom FC Liverpool kam Luis Diaz. Für den Kolumbianer zahlten die Münchner 75 Millionen Euro an den Premier-League-Meister. Mit seinen 28 Jahren ist Diaz kein Transfer für die Zukunft des Vereins. Das weiß auch Sportvorstand Max Eberl. Er verteidigt die Verpflichtung, eine Altersdebatte will er gar nicht erst aufkommen lassen.
Eberl verteidigt Diaz-Transfer: „Wir brauchen schlicht und einfach Qualität“
„Unser Ziel muss sein, bei der Altersstruktur eine gute Mischung im Kader zu haben, am Ende brauchen wir schlicht und einfach Qualität“, erklärte Eberl gegenüber „Kicker“.
[–>Der Bayern-Boss kontert die Kritik, dass Diaz zu alt und zu teuer sei: „Es zählt das Heute, es zählen nicht die nächsten Jahre. Kommen Titel, sind die Einkaufspreise nicht mehr so relevant.“ Beim FC Bayern würde bei Transfers von Spielern das Alter „nur einer von zehn, 15 Punkten, die eine Rolle spielen“, so Eberl weiter.
Bei Diaz habe am Ende das Gesamtpaket überzeugt, erklärte der Bayern-Boss. „Er hat für uns alles, was wir brauchen. Wir wollen Tempo, Tore, Assists, Qualität im Eins-gegen eins und eine hohe Verlässlichkeit, also so viele Einsätze wie möglich“, sagte Eberl.

Dass Diaz eine Sofort-Hilfe ist, hat er gleich bei seinem ersten Auftritt im Trikot der Bayern gezeigt. Beim 2:1 gegen Olympique Lyon kam der Neuzugang erst zur zweiten Hälfte rein, überzeugte auf der linken Seite aber sofort. Schon der erste Bayern-Einsatz wird die Kritiker etwas verstummen lasse haben.
Auch in Liverpool wird man die Leistungen des kolumbianischen Nationalspielers vermissen. „Luis ist ein Spieler, mit dem wir die Liga gewonnen haben, und es gibt einen Grund, warum wir sie mit ihm gewonnen haben – weil er ein sehr guter Spieler ist. Es ist immer enttäuschend, jemanden wie ihn gehen zu sehen“, erklärte Meister-Coach Arne Slot nach dem Abgang von Diaz zu den Bayern.
