Serienmeister HB Ludwigsburg ist quasi pleite und kann seine Top-Spielerinnen nicht mehr bezahlen. Deren Zukunft ist nun völlig unklar. Wie auch das Fortbestehen des Klubs.

SPORT BILD beantwortet die wichtigsten Fragen.

Wie konnte es so weit kommen?

Die Betreibergesellschaft HB Ludwigsburg GmbH & Co. KG hat beim Amtsgericht Ludwigsburg einen Insolvenz-Antrag gestellt, weil im Etat (geschätzte drei Millionen Euro) eine Finanzierungslücke von 500.000 Euro entstanden sein soll. Ein großes Problem ist offenbar das bereits 2024 angekündigte verminderte Engagement des langjährigen Großsponsors Olymp (Modemarke). Mark Bezner, geschäftsführender Gesellschafter, betonte: „Im Zuge der veränderten und herausfordernden Rahmenbedingungen im Modemarkt sowie unserer angestrebten Transformation vom Produktspezialisten zur Lifestyle-Brand haben sich auch die Anforderungen an unsere Markenkommunikation gewandelt. Daher haben wir unsere Marketingaktivitäten im Bereich des Sportsponsorings reduziert, um die frei werdenden Mittel gezielter für andere Kommunikationsmaßnahmen einzusetzen.“ Diese Lücke gelang es nicht zu schließen. Auch eine extra initiierte Crowdfunding-Maßnahme, die 200.000 Euro bringen sollte, verpuffte. Am Ende landeten nur 2720 Euro auf diesem Konto.

Wird das Insolvenzverfahren überhaupt eröffnet?

Rechtsanwalt Dr. Holger Leichtle wurde als vorläufiger Insolvenzverwalter eingesetzt. Ob genügend Masse zur Eröffnung des Verfahrens vorhanden ist, wird aktuell noch geprüft. Die Betreibergesellschaft soll allerdings bereits rund zwei Millionen Euro Schulden drücken.

Was sagen die Spielerinnen?

Die sind wütend. Nationalspielerin Xenia Smits (31) gegenüber der DPA: „So vielen Fragen wurden uns nicht beantwortet. Wie kann es sein, dass ein Verein so in die finanzielle Schieflage gerät? Es ist doch keine Überraschung, wie viel die Hallenmiete kostet oder wie hoch unsere Gehälter sind.“ Weiter sagt sie: „Wie kann man so mit Existenzen spielen? Ich verspüre Wut, weil so eine Mannschaft wird es nie wieder geben. Ich verspüre Wut, weil meiner Mannschaft geschadet wurde. Wir haben sechs bis sieben DHB-Spielerinnen bei uns. Wir werden sicherlich keinen Verein finden, bei dem wir wieder alle zusammenspielen. Da geht Trainingszeit verloren, da geht Einspielzeit verloren.“ Angebote soll es bisher vorrangig aus Dänemark, Ungarn und Rumänien geben.

Kann Ludwigsburg trotzdem weiter in der 1. Bundesliga spielen?

Vorstabdschef Christian Köhle schließt das gegenüber der DPA nicht aus: „Unser Ziel ist weiterhin, den Supercup zu bestreiten und in der kommenden Saison in der 1. Bundesliga zu spielen. Ob es umsetzbar ist, werden wir sehen. Es stehen noch Antworten von über 200 angefragten Sponsoren aus. Vielleicht kriegen wir die Lücke ja doch noch ein Stück weiter geschlossen. Dazu kommen die Rückmeldungen der Spielerinnen, ob und zu welchen Bezügen sie womöglich weiter für uns spielen würden. Wir hoffen, dass wir bis Ende der Woche mehr Klarheit haben.“ Ein Start in der Champions League scheint ausgeschlossen.

Markus Gaugisch: „Diese Nachricht und die daraus resultierende Unsicherheit ist wenige Monate vor der Heim-WM natürlich nicht optimal für die Spielerinnen und auch das Trainerteam mit Frederick und Jasmina, die auch bei uns im Nationalmannschafts-Trainerteam sind. Für alle Beteiligten gilt es jetzt, so schnell wie möglich Lösungen zu finden. Ludwigsburg war eine super Station, sehr fordernd mit einer Top-Mannschaft auf Champions-League-Niveau. Das ist so kurz vor dem Saisonstart schwer, einen adäquaten Verein zu finden. Ich hoffe sehr, dass sich für alle Involvierten Lösungen finden lassen, um möglichst schnell wieder in den sportlichen Alltag zu kommen. Wir werden sie dabei so gut es geht unterstützen. Unsere Planungen für die Heim-WM werden wir aktuell genauso fortsetzen, wie es geplant war, werden aber auch die sich immer wieder ändernden Situationen im Auge behalten und dahingehend anpassen.“
