Brasil em ação pela VNL (Mauricio Val/FV Imagem/CBV)
Com o fim da Liga das Nações de vôlei, a Federação Internacional de Voleibol (FIVB) atualizou o ranking mundial das seleções, tanto masculina, quanto feminina. Embora o Brasil não tenha conquistado o ouro em nenhuma modalidade, esta nova atualização foi positiva. O time masculino, que foi bronze na VNL, subiu de posição, enquanto o feminino, que foi prata, se manteve bem colocado.
Brasil sobe no vôlei masculino
Na última atualização, o Brasil ocupava a quarta posição no ranking mundial de vôlei masculino, atrás de Polônia, Itália e França. Hoje (06), superou a França e agora aparece na terceira posição. Os dois primeiros seguem os mesmos. Vale destacar que o Brasil foi a seleção que mais cresceu no ranking durante a VNL. O time comandado por Bernardinho começou o ano na sétima posição, mas fez uma primeira fase quase invicta e foi ganhando posições. Veja o top-10 atual:

Ranking do vôlei feminino
Já o time feminino, por sua vez, estava em segundo lugar e se manteve. A primeira colocada é a Itália, justamente a equipe que derrotou o Brasil na final da Liga das Nações. A Polônia, que foi bronze na VNL, vem logo abaixo, em terceiro. Já as japonesas, que foram eliminadas pela nossa seleção na semifinal, ocupa a quinta posição. Veja o top-10:

Próxima competição é o Campeonato Mundial
O Brasil volta a quadra no vôlei masculino e feminino já nas próximas semanas, pelo Campeonato Mundial, torneio mais importante que será disputado neste ano. A competição feminina acontece na Tailândia, entre os dias 22 de agosto e 7 de setembro. A seleção brasileira está no grupo C, com Porto Rico, Grécia e França. Já o vôlei masculino, disputa o torneio nas Filipinas, entre 13 e 28 de setembro. A nossa seleção está no grupo H, ao lado de Sérvia, República Tcheca e China.

Recently promoted Spanish league club Real Oviedo fired Serbian coach Veljko Paunovic on Thursday, with the team hovering just above the relegation zone.Paunovic steered Oviedo back to the topflight for the first time in 24 years last season, but the Mexican-owned club let him go after two wins and six losses this campaign.
