Jordon Hudson, the girlfriend of University of North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick, recently ignited further controversy after an unexpected phone call to a podcast host, described as “yelling and crying.”
The story highlights ongoing tensions surrounding Hudson‘s public image and her involvement in Belichick‘s post-NFL life as he prepares to begin his collegiate coaching career with the University of North Carolina Tar Heels.

The exchange, lasting 13 minutes, has renewed scrutiny of the 24-year-old’s attempts to control media narratives about herself and her relationship with the football legend as pressure ramps up on the pair.
Jordan is said to have contacted Charlotte Wilder of The Athletic’s “The Sports Gossip Show” late on a Saturday night as the host recalled the call began with Hudson identifying herself as “the president of your universe,” a phrase tied to the hosts’ prior podcast episode about the 2025 Miss Maine pageant.
“I couldn’t tell what the tone was,” Wilder said on the August 7 episode of the show. “She would oscillate between friendly but there was clearly an edge to her voice, she kind of wanted to let me have it.
“She wanted to talk about our Miss Maine episode, our opinions around the pageant.”
Hudson is said to have expressed frustration over the podcast’s coverage of the pageant, which focused on her finishing as second runner-up and her rivalry with winner Shelby Howell.
“You know, you guys have gotten as close to the truth as anyone. You’re still very far away from it,” Wilder recalled, paraphrasing Hudson’s words before they attempted to bring her onto the show.
The result was a series of FaceTime calls and texts that spanned roughly five hours, with the initial FaceTime conversation was described by Wilder as “circular,” with no clear resolution or commitment from Hudson to appear on the podcast.
The hosts warned Hudson they would disclose their communications if she chose not to join the podcast, emphasizing their responsibility for transparency, but her reaction was one of displeasure.
“I think this gets into the broader PR picture,” Wilder explained. “Of, like, she wants intense control without understanding you will never have that. So you got to choose a different strategy.”
Hudson breaks down in tears on show says Wilder
The exchanges have prompted questions about Hudson‘s capacity to manage public relations and the extent to which she seeks to influence the coverage surrounding her and Belichick.
And it only managed to worsen as the communication climaxed on a Thursday afternoon when Hudson called Wilder directly as according to Wilder, the conversation quickly became emotional and confrontational.
“I mean, she’s yelling at me,” Wilder said. “She’s crying. She said that she finished the rest of the Miss Maine episode, and she didn’t like what we said.
“And I was like, ‘Wait, what?’ I was like, ‘I thought we’ve been talking about the Miss Maine episode that we did, that you watched the whole time.’
“I’m a journalist. This is my job. I’ve had sources yell at me before … Because we had what we thought [was] some level of trust with her, I think it felt like it was incredibly jarring.”
“To call me, so upset, I was like ‘What are you doing?’ You want to save her from herself. She clearly doesn’t trust us anymore, we don’t trust her as a reliable narrator about herself.”
