Jonathan Owens is making waves not only on the field but also off it, capturing the admiration of his most dedicated supporter: his wife and the gymnastics legend, Simone Biles.
During training camp this week, the Chicago Bears safety stood out amid one of the most intense camps in recent memory, while Biles took to Instagram to highlight her husband’s distinctive style and laid-back confidence.
Simone Biles reveals Owens’ patience before big night!
Owens was seen wearing a black vintage graphic T-shirt featuring The Smashing Pumpkins, paired with black shorts and white sneakers accented with black details. His look was completed by a black backpack, white headphones hanging around his neck.
He fitted out his look and several accessories including a silver chain, bracelet, and watch and also showed off his sleeve tattoos, capturing the eyes of his dominant Olympian wife.
“Fresh,” Biles captioned the photo, accompanied by heart-eye and sighing emojis, signaling her clear approval for her mans look as he gears up for the 2025/26 NFL season.
This relaxed style comes against the backdrop of an unusually physical Bears training camp under the guidance of their new head coach, Ben Johnson as the team has emphasized a tougher, more aggressive identity.
Owens was directly involved in one of the new, more confrontation approaches when during a goal-line drill, where he delivered a “peanut punch”, a technique aimed at dislodging the ball from the opponent.
The recipient of the hit, Roschon Johnson, retaliated by throwing the ball at Owens and shoving him to the ground. According to Bears Wire, that scuffle was one of four incidents that day.
Despite the physical intensity, Owens remains focused on solidifying his role for the forthcoming NFL season as in his second year with the Bears, he played in all 17 games last season and started five.
Ben Johnson not pleased as Bears game ends in tie
The Bears faced the Miami Dolphins at Soldier Field in their preseason opener on Sunday, August 10 resulting in a 24-24 draw with most starters resting, as the game featured multiple lead changes in the final quarter.
Case Keenum connected on two touchdown passes late in the third and fourth quarters, giving the Bears leads of 17-14 and later 24-21 but because the NFL’s preseason rules mean there is no overtime, so the game ended in a tie.
“It’s hard to assess the feeling in the locker room on a tie like that,” Johnson said after the game. “Those guys went out there and they laid it out.
“All those guys that were active, they did a great job going out there and competing. You just don’t know how to feel when it ends up being 24-24.
“It doesn’t matter preseason or not. You go out there, they’re keeping score and you’re playing to win.”
Johnson praised the resilience of several players who returned from injury, including Jonathan Ford and Zacch Pickens, along with Josh Blackwell and Tre Flowers. Austin Booker, a second-year defensive end, also stood out too.
