The Buffalo Bills got off to a bad start in their first preseason game against the New York Giants. On August 9, they lost 25-34 at Highmark Stadium.
Head coach Sean McDermott announced that he would not play on Saturday. Although Josh Allen did not start the game, with Mitch Trubisky and Shane Buechele taking his place, the MVP quarterback did run out of the tunnel and warm up with his teammates.

However, the 29-year-old star did not miss the opportunity to have dinner with his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, before the game.

On Saturday, the couple was seen dining together before the start of the Bills’ first preseason game. On Instagram, the account @haileesteinfeldsource2k25 shared a photo of them enjoying each other’s company with the caption: “Hailee & Josh Allen having dinner in Buffalo, New York yesterday.”
In the image, the actress and singer is seen wearing a black coat and her hair pulled back in a bun. Meanwhile, Allen wore a brown shirt and his new mustache.
Fans quickly left their comments on the post: “The way he looks at her,” said one follower. “Adore them,” said another user. “Awwww such a beautiful couple,” wrote a third alongside four heart emojis.
Josh and Hailee continue to discover and enjoy their married life after getting engaged on November 22, 2024, and marrying on May 31 in Santa Barbara, California, in a luxurious and tender wedding where cell phones were not allowed.
In addition, the QB is coming off an MVP season, just signed a new six-year, $330 million contract with the Bills, of which $250 million is guaranteed, and married the woman he called “his best friend.”
With the main goal of going to Santa Clara, California, and winning the Super Bowl in February 2026, Allen is preparing to surpass his numbers from last season, where he threw for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns, and added 531 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.
It is unclear whether Allen will play in the upcoming game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday, August 17, at Soldier Field, or against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the 24th at Raymond James Stadium. What is known is that his wife will be present at Fan Expo Canada at the Metro Toronto Convention Center that day.
The Bills will kick off the regular season on September 8 against the Baltimore Ravens.
