O Palmeiras se aproximou da contratação do goleiro Carlos Miguel, que está no Nottingham Forest, mas teve mais destaque com a camisa do Corinthians, ganhando a posição do ídolo Cássio, antes de ir para o futebol inglês. O Verdão deve pagar cerca de 4 milhões de euros pelo jogador de 26 anos, que é aguardado para exames médicos nos próximos dias.
E quem comentou sobre essa chegada foi o ex-goleiro Velloso, ídolo do Palmeiras nos anos 90, conquistando diversos títulos importantes. Em seu canal no Youtube, o atual comentarista elogiou a diretoria palmeirense por agir rápido no mercado, após a notícia de que Carlos Miguel estaria na lista de dispensa do Nottingham Forest.
“Vocês que me acompanham a mais tempo, fui o primeiro a falar que esse seria o cara para chegar em um momento como esse. Ele tem um potencial gigantesco, finalmente a gente viu a diretoria agindo rápido. Ele estava livre no mercado, o Palmeiras já foi lá e fechou”, disse Velloso, que elogiou o jogador. “Se eu tivesse a caneta, esse seria o meu nome para o gol do Palmeiras.”
Carreira de Carlos Miguel
Carlos Miguel iniciou sua carreira no Internacional, mas não chegou a jogar profissionalmente no Colorado, ficando sempre na reserva ou sendo emprestado, passando por Santa Cruz e Boa Esporte. Chegou ao Corinthians em 2021 para ser reserva de Cássio, mas se destacava quando tinha oportunidades, sendo pedido por torcedores para ser o titular. Então, em um momento ruim do ídolo, Carlos Miguel acabou ganhando a posição. Com isso, Cássio se transferiu para o Cruzeiro.
No ano passado, com o caminho aberto para ser titular do time, o goleiro ficou alguns meses e logo aceitou uma oferta do Nottingham Forest, da Inglaterra, o que desagradou boa parte da torcida. Por lá, porém, praticamente não entrou em campo, fazendo apenas três partidas. Agora, chega ao Verdão para brigar por posição com Weverton, que é titular desde 2018, conquistando diversos títulos, mas não vive uma grande fase, tendo falhado em alguns jogos.
Palmeiras tenta superar eliminação na Copa do Brasil
O Palmeiras sofreu uma dura derrota na última semana, perdendo em casa para o rival Corinthians e dando adeus à Copa do Brasil ainda nas oitavas de final. Com isso, geraram diversos protestos da torcida palmeirense, não poupando nem o técnico Abel Ferreira, que ouviu vaias no Allianz Parque. A revolta é um acumulo por ter perdido também o Paulistão para o rival, além do time não conseguir jogar bem, mesmo com mais de R$ 500 milhões investidos em reforços.
Agora, o Alviverde segue na briga pelo título do Campeonato Brasileiro e da Libertadores, onde está nas oitavas de final. O próximo compromisso é justamente pela competição continental. O time encara o Universitario (PER) na quinta (14), às 21h30, fora de casa, pelo jogo de ida das oitavas. A volta, no Allianz Parque, será na outra semana, dia 21, no mesmo horário.
