Ex-BVB-Torhüter Roman Bürki (34) spricht offen über sein gestörtes Verhältnis zu Ex-Trainer Edin Terzić (42).
Der Schweizer stand sieben Jahre im Tor von Borussia Dortmund. Doch das Ende seiner BVB-Zeit verlief alles andere als harmonisch, vor allem wegen seines Verhältnisses zu Trainer Edin Terzić.
Im Interview mit „Spox“ blickt der ehemalige Borusse zurück auf seine Degradierung 2021. Nach einer Schulterverletzung, die ihn sechs Pflichtspiele kostete, verlor Bürki seinen Platz im Tor. „Ich glaube, ich wäre weiter im Tor geblieben, wenn ich nicht verletzt gewesen wäre“, sagt Bürki. „Im Nachhinein denke ich, dass die Verletzung dem damaligen Trainer Edin Terzić in die Karten gespielt hat. Ich hatte bei ihm nie so richtig ein Vertrauensgefühl, wie ich es bei anderen Trainern hatte.“
Bürki war von der Entscheidung überrascht und enttäuscht: „Ich war total baff, das hat mich schwer getroffen.“ Für ihn war klar, dass er nicht der Hauptgrund für die Probleme der Mannschaft war. „Auch als Marwin Hitz spielte, lief es nicht besser.“
[–>Deutlich positiver äußert sich Bürki über Marco Rose (48), der ihn bei Amtsantritt offen in sein Büro rief. Trotz der Verpflichtung von Gregor Kobel (27) wollte Rose ihn „nicht vom Hof jagen“. Bürki durfte mittrainieren und sich bei der Suche nach einem neuen Verein Zeit lassen. „Ich kann nur Positives über Marco Rose sagen.“
Kurz vor dem DFB-Pokalfinale 2021 musste der jetzige MLS-Torwart überraschend wieder ins Tor, da Stammtorwart Hitz verletzt ausfiel. Doch nur eine Woche zuvor hatte ihm ein BVB-Verantwortlicher mitgeteilt, dass der Verein nicht mehr mit ihm plane und er sich einen neuen Klub suchen solle.
Trotzdem erhielt Bürki kurz vor dem Finale eine unpersönliche SMS mit Lob. Eine Botschaft, die für ihn widersprüchlich und kaum ernst zu nehmen war. „Ich habe mich zu dem Zeitpunkt nicht mehr gut genug für den BVB gefühlt. Und genau dann kommt so eine SMS, das konnte ich unmöglich ernst nehmen“, sagt Bürki.
Besonders enttäuscht war er, dass es kein persönliches Gespräch gab. Stattdessen wurde die wichtige Nachricht nur per SMS übermittelt – ein „ziemlich skurriler“ Umgang, der das Vertrauen weiter belastete. Dieses Beispiel zeigt, wie schnell Wertschätzung im Profifußball verloren gehen kann.

Diese Episoden zeigen das zerrüttete Vertrauensverhältnis zwischen Bürki und Terzić. Für Bürki ist klar: „Vertrauen zwischen Spieler und Trainer ist entscheidend – das hat bei mir mit Terzić gefehlt.“
Trotz großer Erfolge bei Dortmund endet Bürkis Zeit beim BVB als enttäuschende Episode. Ein Beispiel dafür, wie im Fußball nicht nur Leistung, sondern auch Vertrauen zählt und wie schnell beides verloren gehen kann.
