

In a moving tribute after the death of wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, Sylvester Stallone spoke about his all-time respect for his Rocky III co-star, calling him “in a class of his own.” The quote came on August 13, 2025, during the TMZ Presents: The Real Hulk Hogan special.
Stallone discussed working with him on the 1982 movie, noting that although he was careful at first, because Hogan had this huge body, he wanted to cast him so that they had a “David and Goliath” scenario.

He complimented Hogan on his athleticism and accuracy, noting how Hogan would perform stunts with such dedication that he was actually taking the hit himself, in order not to hurt Stallone. “He was a magician,” Stallone said regarding the skill of Hogan in making violent scenes appear and feel real.
The actor also provided stories from his own experience on set, with one of them being a very painful experience. It all happened when Hogan’s shin kicked him accidentally when they were performing a stunt. In the process, Stallone proved Hogan’s professionalism and concern for safety when working on their scenes and way more.

Going back to Hogan’s wider context, Stallone cemented his wide-ranging influence in wrestling and entertainment by stating, “Hulk was in a class of his own.” He explained that Hogan was not replaceable anywhere in terms of presence or talent, and his mark on mainstream culture had been undeniable.
Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died July 24, 2025, at age 71.His death has prompted an outpouring of compliments and tributes from fans and co-workers alike for his success as a pioneer in the professional wrestling sport and much respected public icon.
