Há exatos 19 anos, no dia 16 de agosto de 2006, o Sport Club Internacional conquistava, pela primeira vez em sua história, a Copa Libertadores da América. Com um empate por 2 a 2 diante do São Paulo, no Beira-Rio, após vitória por 2 a 1 no Morumbi, o clube gaúcho ergueu o troféu mais importante do continente.
A decisão entre Internacional e São Paulo entrou para a história como a primeira final da Libertadores disputada entre dois clubes brasileiros. Neste 16 de agosto, colorados relembram não apenas o título inédito, mas também os heróis daquela campanha e a atmosfera de um dos maiores capítulos do futebol sul-americano.
O jogo do título
O segundo jogo da final da Libertadores de 2006 foi disputado em um Beira-Rio completamente tomado por colorados. Após vencer o São Paulo por 2 a 1 no Morumbi – com gols de Rafael Sóbis para o Inter e Edcarlos descontando para os paulistas –, o time gaúcho entrou em campo com a vantagem do empate para conquistar o título inédito.
No primeiro tempo, Fernandão abriu o placar para o Inter após falha de Rogério Ceni. Na volta do intervalo, o São Paulo empatou com Fabão e reacendeu a disputa. Mas, Tinga marcou o segundo do Colorado e voltou a colocar o time da casa em vantagem, e ainda foi expulso na comemoração. O São Paulo ainda buscou o empate com gol de Lenílson, mas o 2 a 2 no placar final foi suficiente para garantir ao Internacional sua primeira taça da Libertadores.
Internacional comemora conquista nas redes sociais
Em seu perfil oficial, o Internacional fez uma publicação relembrando a importância da data e comemorando a conquista com registros fotográficos da final. No mesmo post, o clube também relacionou o título de 2006 ao desafio que terá na próxima quarta-feira (20), quando enfrenta o Flamengo no jogo de volta das oitavas de final da Libertadores.
A torcida se engaja e acredita que a virada pode acontecer no Beira-Rio. Já são mais de 40 mil ingressos vendidos, e as entradas para as áreas livres e locadas do estádio já estão esgotadas. Ainda restam lugares no setor Coração do Gigante.
Torcedores valorizam ídolos
Uma conquista da magnitude que o Internacional comemora neste sábado é o tipo de momento em que jogadores se tornam eternos na história do clube. Fernandão, Sóbis, Clemer e Bolívar são alguns dos nomes daquele elenco que permanecem marcados na memória do torcedor como ídolos. Um colorado destacou e valorizou também Tinga, outro grande nome daquele time comandado por Abel Braga.
