O Grêmio demonstrou sua imortalidade na tarde deste domingo (17), na Arena MRV, em Belo Horizonte. O Tricolor Gaúcho venceu, de virada, o Atlético-MG por 3 a 1, pela 20ª rodada do Brasileirão. O Galo abriu o placar com um belo gol de Gustavo Scarpa, mas a equipe gaúcha empatou com Edenílson, virou com Balbuena e definiu o resultado com Aravena.
Com a vitória, o Tricolor subiu duas posições na tabela e chegou ao 13º lugar, abrindo quatro pontos de vantagem sobre o Vitória, primeiro time dentro da zona de rebaixamento. O Atlético-MG permanece com 24 pontos e caiu para a 11ª posição.
Primeiro tempo resolvido nas bolas paradas
O Grêmio entrou pressionado na partida, precisando do resultado. O Atlético-MG, jogando em casa, criou as principais oportunidades no início: em um escanteio fechado cobrado por Gustavo Scarpa, que exigiu boa defesa de Tiago Volpi, e em um chute de Alexsander, que saiu para fora. A resposta do Grêmio veio com uma finalização de Cristian Oliveira de fora da área, também sem direção.
O jogo ficou concentrado no meio-campo, com o Grêmio errando mais passes que o adversário e tendo dificuldades para desenvolver seu jogo ofensivo. Com a disputa intensa com a bola rolando, foi a bola parada que decidiu a primeira etapa. Aos 37 minutos, Hulk cobrou uma falta curta, e Scarpa chegou batendo de primeira, no ângulo direito de Volpi, um golaço.
O Tricolor Gaúcho respondeu na mesma moeda: Marlon cobrou escanteio pela esquerda, e Edenílson, mesmo desequilibrado, nem precisou saltar para cabecear no canto direito de Everson, que até pulou, mas não conseguiu alcançar a bola.

Ainda no primeiro tempo, Villasanti foi substituído por conta de uma lesão. O paraguaio tentou marcar Reinier, mas acabou travando o pé esquerdo no chão e sentiu o joelho. O meio-campista precisou sair de maca com muitas dores, e Dodi entrou em seu lugar.
