While uncertainty reigns in Cleveland, Baker Mayfield is thriving with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It’s worth remembering that the franchise let him go three years ago to bet on Deshaun Watson, whom they signed to a five-year, $230 million contract-a decision that has so far proven to be a complete disaster.
Because of decisions like this, since 1999 the Cleveland Browns have only made the playoffs four times, one of those thanks to Baker Mayfield, who in fact gave them their first playoff victory since 1994.
Right now, the Cleveland Browns would dream of having a quarterback like Baker Mayfield, who last season had a magnificent year with 41 touchdown passes and 4,500 yards-he was even in the MVP conversation. The former Oklahoma Sooners star’s name was right there among the league’s best.
I am sure the Cleveland Browns regret practically throwing Mayfield away in 2021, but what’s done is done, and today the Tampa Bay quarterback, Baker Mayfield shared his opinion about Shedeur Sanders with Jaki, an independent content creator for the Colorado Buffaloes.
“He himself has all the pieces he needs to have success. It’s just about the time and place,” said Mayfield.
Today, Shedeur Sanders’ situation with the Cleveland Browns is very complicated. However, he has shown his talent and could find a place somewhere else. And perhaps the Browns will regret it in the future if they let him go.
