Viktoria už podruhé v krátkém časovém sledu přišla o hráče kvůli srážce hlavami. Ve 2. kole s Jabloncem musel při remíze 1:1 předčasně střídat brankář Martin Jedlička po střetu s Martinem Cedidlou.
Totožný osud potkal i Spáčila.
„Dostal z boku, na spánek. Přímo před námi, to nechcete vidět. Nevypadalo to vůbec dobře. Zatrnulo mi. I z jeho reakce. Byl KO, nevnímal. Srážky hlavami jsou nepříjemné, ale k fotbalu patří,“ ví trenér Viktorie Miroslav Koubek.

Zraněný Karel Spáčil z Plzně opustil stadion v sanitce.
Ke dvaadvacetiletému obránci se okamžitě po souboji s Condém seběhli spoluhráči. Jako první dorazil Denis Višinský, Spáčilův vrstevník. Další borec, který obléká dres Plzně od léta. Okamžitě dával gestikulací směrem k lavičkám najevo, že to nevypadá vůbec dobře.
Brzy dorazilo golfové vozítko i nosítka, lékaři Spáčilovi okamžitě zafixovali krk. Obránce Viktorie logicky musel z placu, nahradil jej Svetozar Markovič. Celkově se nehrálo necelých šest minut.
Když zrovna Spáčil opouštěl trávník, kotel Plzně hlasitě vyvolával jeho jméno. Vyrazil na vyšetření do nemocnice, které odhalilo lehký otřes mozku a pohmožděnou krční páteř. Spoluhráči mu zmírnili bolest alespoň výsledkem, neboť díky ledově klidnému kapitánovi Matěji Vydrovi v nastavení druhé půle proměnili penaltu a zapsali vítězství 2:1. První ligové v sezoně před zraky vlastních fandů.
