Im Rahmen des Supercups in München wurde die 2. Runde im DHB-Pokal ausgelost. Und da hatte Europameister Steffen Weinhold, der die Lose zog, ein durchaus glückliches Händchen.
Handball: DHB-Pokal bringt heißes Bundesliga-Duell
Herausragend ist sicher das Duell der früheren Pokalsieger Rhein-Neckar Löwen und SG Flensburg-Handewitt. Obendrein kommt es für Löwen-Coach Maik Machulla zum Wiedersehen mit seinem Ex-Klub, mit dem er als Trainer 2018 und 2019 die Deutsche Meisterschaft gewann.

Mit den Spielen von Meister Füchse Berlin gegen Wetzlar, Frisch Auf Göppingen gegen den SC DHfK Leipzig und Aufsteiger GWD Minden gegen den ThSV Eisenach gibt es weitere Bundesliga-Duelle, die zwischen dem 30. September und 2. Oktober ausgetragen werden sollen.

The Cleveland Browns trimmed their quarterback room to four active players following the release of Tyler Huntley, according to Adam Schefter. Cleveland "has been planning to keep its other four" quarterbacks. This comes after Huntley led the Browns on a game-winning drive during the preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams after substituting into the game with in place of Shedeur Sanders.Huntley signed with the Browns at the start of preseason following Kenny Pickett's hamstring injury to ensure Cleveland had enough quarterback options. Huntley, 27, spent last training camp with Cleveland before failing to make the 53-man roster.
