RB
- James Conner played the first seven snaps with the starters in the first preseason game, and then his day was done before everyone else. This unusually included a third-and-6 snap.
- Trey Benson played 11 snaps with the starters, all after Conner was done. He played a little bit after the starters in the first game but sat out in the other two games.
- Emari Demercado didn’t play with the starters, despite the third-and-6 snap where he usually would have played. He played into the third quarter of the first game, didn’t start and played into the third quarter of the second game. He started the third game, playing into the fourth quarter.
- Michael Carter played in the third quarter of the first game, started the second game and rotated with Demercado throughout the final game.
- Bam Knight was fifth on the depth chart but was the only running back not to play in the fourth quarter in the final game.

WR
- Marvin Harrison Jr. played all 18 snaps with the starters. He was the X receiver, like last season.
- Zay Jones played 11 snaps with the starters. He played four of six snaps in 11 personnel, which was relatively similar to the end of last season. He played seven of 11 snaps in 12 personnel, which was a notable increase from last season. He was the Z receiver.
- Michael Wilson played nine snaps with the starters. He played all six snaps in 11 personnel, which was normal, but he played only three of 11 snaps in 12 personnel, which is a notable decrease from last season. Wilson was the primary slot receiver in 11 personnel.
- Greg Dortch played three snaps with the starters. He played two of six snaps in 11 personnel and one of 11 in 12 personnel. Dortch played a little bit with the backups and sat out the other two games. He is also listed with Dallas among the team’s returners.
- Xavier Weaver was the next man up in the first game and started the other two. He was one of two wide receivers to stop playing by halftime in the last two games. He is the backup X receiver.
- Andre Baccellia didn’t start playing until Dortch was done in the first game, but he was among the top three receivers in the second two games. He also stopped playing at halftime in those outings. He was a backup slot receiver.
- Simi Fehoko missed the first game, so he was a little further down the depth chart in the second game, but he was the third main receiver in the final game and was also done by halftime. He was primarily a Z receiver.
- Tejhaun Palmer was among the next men up in the first preseason game and started the second. He played until the fourth quarter of the second game, as well as the third. He was primarily a Z and slot receiver.
TE
- Trey McBride played nine snaps with the starters. This included the entire first drive and the first play of the second drive.
- Tip Reiman played 12 snaps with the starters. This included five of eight snaps in the first drive, and seven of 10 in the second drive. Reiman continued playing into the second quarter and sat out the other two games.
- Elijah Higgins played 10 snaps with the starters. This included just one of eight snaps in the first drive, but nine of 10 in the second drive. He would be the replacement for McBride if he were to miss time. Higgins played the rest of the first half of the first game, started the second and sat out the third.
- Travis Vokolek was the next man up in every game. He played in the first quarter only in the final game.
Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons didn’t play their starters or top backups throughout the preseason.
QB
RB

TE

Baltimore Ravens
General
The Ravens didn’t play their starters in the preseason.
QB
- Lamar Jackson didn’t play in the preseason.
- Cooper Rush started all three games, playing anywhere from one to two quarters.
- Devin Leary was the only other quarterback on the roster and took the rest of the snaps.
RB
- Derrick Henry and Justice Hill didn’t play in the preseason.
- Keaton Mitchell started the first preseason game and played into the second quarter. An injury kept him out of the other two games.
- Rasheen Ali was the next man up in the first game and started the second two. He played until halftime of the first game, and into the third quarter of the following two.
WR
- Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman and DeAndre Hopkins all sat out the preseason.
- Tylan Wallace played in the first quarter of the first two games and sat out the third, suggesting he remains fourth on the depth chart. Wallace has primarily been a Z receiver in the preseason, but has some experience in the slot.
- LaJohntay Wester, a sixth-round rookie, worked his way up the depth chart throughout the preseason. He started playing in the second quarter of the first game, suggesting he was eighth on the depth chart. He started the second and third games. He left the third game early in the second quarter, while others either started playing later or left the game later, suggesting he is fifth on the depth chart. Wester has been a Z receiver.

TE

- Charlie Kolar started the first two preseason games, playing in the first half. He didn’t play in the last preseason game.
- Scotty Washington and Zaire Mitchell-Paden have shared snaps throughout the preseason. If the Ravens keep a fourth tight end, it’s a toss-up as to which one they would keep.

QB

RB
- James Cook didn’t play in the preseason.
- Ray Davis started the first two preseason games. He played the entire first half of the first game, including 10 of 18 snaps with the starters, and into the third quarter of the second game. Part of the reason he played so much in the second game was that the Bills only had two healthy running backs. He didn’t play in the third game.
- Ty Johnson played eight of 18 snaps with the starters. He played in some normal situations in the game, but the expectation is that he’s back to being the receiving back. He missed the other two preseason games.
- Frank Gore Jr. played in the second half of the first game, was the only other running back in the second game, and started the third game. He would be the fourth running back if they kept four.

- Dawson Knox played five of eight snaps with the starters on the first two drives, and three of six snaps on the second drive.

The Panthers’ starters played the first two drives of the first two preseason games for a total of 20 plays.
QB
- Bryce Young took all 20 snaps with the starters.
- Andy Dalton played the second quarter in the first game and the rest of the first quarter in the second game. An injury kept him out of game three.
- Jack Plummer played the rest of the first two games and the first half of the third game.
RB
- Chuba Hubbard played 11 snaps with the starters. This included 10 of 15 early down snaps and one of five third downs. He didn’t play with the backups.
- Rico Dowdle played the other nine snaps with the starters. This included four of five third downs and five of 15 early downs. He played 13 of 14 snaps on the third drive of those games to give him more early down opportunities. He was among the key backups to sit during the third game.
- Trevor Etienne didn’t see a snap with the starters and only took one snap while Dowdle was still playing. He was the first running back outside of Hubbard and Dowdle in all three games.
- Raheem Blackshear was the fourth running back. His first snap occurred two quarters before any other running back in all three games. He’s expected to make the roster as their primary returner, but Etienne has gotten the most return opportunities in the preseason.
WR
- Tetairoa McMillan played 19 snaps with the starter as their X receiver. McMillan also played throughout the first half of the first preseason game with backups, as well as the rest of the first quarter in the second game.
- Adam Thielen played 16 snaps with the starters. He played 100% of snaps in 11 personnel, and 0% in two receiver sets, similar to last season. 12 of his 16 snaps occurred in the slot. He didn’t play with the backups.

- Jalen Coker played seven snaps with the starters at the Z receiver spot, all in the first game after Legette’s injury. He missed the second game due to illness. He played into the third quarter of the first game. He played in the first quarter of the final game, only because he missed the second game. He stopped playing on offense earlier than most receivers. While he played significantly out of the slot as a rookie, he lined up out wide on 78% of his snaps this preseason. This included playing significantly at the X receiver spot, suggesting he will be the backup to both McMillan and Legette.
- Brycen Tremayne played two snaps with the starters, in place of Legette, in the second preseason game. While he only played in the second half of the first game and into the third quarter of the second game, he was among the players held out of the third game, suggesting he has made the roster. He was an outside receiver throughout the preseason, primarily playing the Z role.
- David Moore played one snap with the starters, in place of McMillan. He similarly played in the second half of the first game and into the third quarter of the second game, but he also had to play the entire first half of the third game, putting his roster spot in doubt. He’s been an outside receiver, primarily playing at the X spot.
- Hunter Renfrow didn’t play with the starters, but was the primary slot receiver in the second game when Thielen was done playing, and the primary slot receiver in the final preseason game.
- Jimmy Horn Jr. is a sixth-round rookie who also didn’t play with the starters. He was the primary slot receiver once Thielen left in the first game, but didn’t play until after Renfrow was done playing in the second two preseason games. He seems unlikely to make the roster, unless the Panthers don’t think they can stash him on the practice squad.
TE
- Ja’Tavion Sanders played 16 of 20 snaps with the starters. That included 75% of 11 personnel snaps, 100% of 11 personnel snaps on third down, and 100% of 12 personnel snaps. He didn’t play with the backups.

- Isaac TeSlaa and Tom Kennedy started all four preseason games, typically playing the first half. TeSlaa played a little longer than Kennedy in the Hall of Fame game, suggesting Kennedy was higher on the depth chart at that point. In the final preseason game, TeSlaa only played in the first quarter, while Kennedy played into the second quarter, suggesting TeSlaa was higher by the end of the preseason. TeSlaa was the X receiver and Kennedy the Z.
- Dominic Lovett, the seventh-round rookie, was the primary slot receiver in the Hall of Fame game. He missed the first week of the preseason due to injury, and fell behind undrafted rookie Jackson Meeks in the second week, but was back to being the primary slot receiver in the final week. He would be the seventh wide receiver if they keep seven.
TE
- Sam LaPorta and Brock Wright sat out the entire preseason.
- Shane Zylstra started all four games. He was done at halftime in the first three, and done at the end of the first quarter in the fourth. He is their third tight end.
- Undrafted rookie Zach Horton was the second tight end in two tight end sets through the last three weeks of the preseason in the first half. He also played the rest of the games, but he would be the fourth tight end if they keep four.

- Luke Musgrave played seven of 12 snaps with the starters in the first game and 10 of 18 in the second game.
- John FitzPatrick played eight of 18 snaps with the starters in the second game, mostly after Kraft was done playing. He was also the starter of the second game, playing only in the first half of all three games, which suggests he will make the roster.
- Ben Sims was the next man up in every game. He also only played in the first half of games, suggesting Green Bay will keep four tight ends.
Houston Texans
General
The Texans played their starters for two drives and a total of 14 plays in their second preseason game.
QB
- C.J. Stroud took all 14 snaps with the starters.

- Jayden Higgins played two snaps with the starters. He’s been an X receiver throughout the preseason, and his two snaps with the starters were in place of Collins.
- Jaylin Noel played two snaps with the starters. He’s been the primary Z and slot receiver with the backups.
- Justin Watson was the next man up in every game. He was primarily an X receiver.
- Braxton Berrios was also the next man up in each game, with a clear gap between him and the receivers below him. He only played into the early parts of the second quarter in the final preseason game, similar to the receivers ahead of him. In contrast, the receivers below him played into the fourth quarter. He was primarily a slot receiver. Berrios is listed as the team’s primary punt returner.
TE
- Dalton Schultz played eight snaps with the starters. Schultz played the majority of 11 personnel snaps, but didn’t play in any of the 21 personnel snaps. This suggests a slightly decreased role from last season.
- Cade Stover played nine snaps with the starters. This included all of the 21 and 12 personnel snaps, and three snaps out of 11 personnel. He also started the first preseason game, but sat out the second.
- Irv Smith Jr. missed the first preseason game and appeared to be fourth on the depth chart in the second game, but he started the third and stopped playing by halftime.
- Harrison Bryant joined the Texans before the second preseason game after Brevin Jordan landed on injured reserve. He began third on the depth chart, only playing in the first half of the second preseason game, but he was at the bottom of the depth chart in the final game.

Indianapolis Colts

- Khalil Herbert didn’t play until the second half of the first preseason game, and then missed the second two games due to injury.
- Ulysses Bentley IV, an undrafted rookie, was the next man up in all three games.
WR
- Michael Pittman Jr. played all 15 snaps with the starters, playing the Z receiver role as usual.
- Alec Pierce and Josh Downs sat out the entire preseason.
- Adonai Mitchell played 14 snaps with the starters as the X receiver. His experience throughout the preseason was as the starting X receiver, but he is presumably the top backup for all three receivers.
- Anthony Gould played 11 snaps with the starters, playing in the slot. He was also the primary slot receiver in the other two games. He is also listed as their top kick and punt returner.
- Ashton Dulin started the first preseason game as the Z receiver. He was the top backup in the second game and sat out the final game.
- Laquon Treadwell played one snap with the starters. He also started the third preseason game, suggesting he is seventh on the depth chart.

- Mo Alie-Cox played four snaps with the starters. He missed the first game and sat out the second. He will likely be the second tight end in 12 personnel.
- Drew Ogletree started the first and third games. He is the likely backup to Alie-Cox.
- Will Mallory played one snap with the starters. He played in the first half of the third game with Warren out. He is the backup to Warren.

- Travis Etienne Jr. played all 12 snaps with the starters in the first game and eight snaps with the starters in the second game. In the second game, when he rotated with Bigsby, he played five of 14 snaps on early downs and all three third downs.
- Bhayshul Tuten was the fourth running back in the first game and the third quarterback in the second. He stopped playing in the middle of the third quarter in the second game, suggesting he is currently third on the depth chart.
- LeQuint Allen Jr. played all four quarters of the first game and from the second quarter until the end of the second game. He didn’t play in the fourth game when key players rested.
- Ja’Quinden Jackson was the final quarterback in the first two games and started the third.
WR
- Brian Thomas Jr. played 28 snaps with the starters. He played 11 snaps in the slot and was typically the X receiver when lined up out wide, which is generally rare for a wide receiver.
- Travis Hunter Jr. played 11 of 12 snaps with the starters in the first game and didn’t play in the other two games due to injury. He played five snaps in the slot and was typically the Z receiver when lined up out wide. On defense, the Jaguars used Tyson Campbell as right cornerback, Jarrian Jones as left cornerback, and Jourdan Lewis in the slot in nickel defense. On the second drive, Jones moved to right cornerback, while Hunter played left cornerback. Hunter played 100% of snaps on defense during the second and third drives at left cornerback.
- Dyami Brown played 10 of 12 snaps with the starters in the first game. Brown had multiple snaps at all three positions.
- Parker Washington played two snaps with the starters in the first game and all 17 snaps with the starters in the second game. He didn’t play in the third game, making him the clear fourth wide receiver on the depth chart. Washington primarily played at the Z receiver spot, but also played all three positions. He is also the primary returner for the team.
- Austin Trammell played 10 snaps with the starters in the second game. He was seventh on the depth chart in the first game, but surpassed Joshua Cephus to be the third receiver in the second game. He started the final game, playing in the first half. He primarily played in the slot.
- Trenton Irwin played one snap with the starters in the second game. He was the fifth wide receiver in the first game, and similarly started and played in the first half of the second game. He was an X receiver.
- Dorian Singer, an undrafted rookie, worked his way up the depth chart and started the final preseason game. He would be the seventh wide receiver if they keep seven.
TE
- Brenton Strange played 23 of 29 snaps with the starters.
- Johnny Mundt played nine snaps with the starters in the second game after missing the first game. He played until halftime, while Long played into the third quarter, suggesting Mundt is second on the depth chart. He sat during the third game.

- Shawn Bowman was the next man up in all three games, including starting the final game. He would be the fourth tight end if they keep four.
Kansas City Chiefs
General
The Chiefs played their starters for a three-play drive in their first game, most of their starters for a 10-play drive in the second game, and their starters for 21 plays over three drives in the second game.
QB
- Patrick Mahomes played the first and third game, but sat out the second.
- Gardner Minshew started the first game and played in the first half in the other two games.
- Chris Oladokun was the next man up in the second and third games after playing behind Bailey Zappe in the first game.
RB
- Isiah Pacheco played all three plays in their first game, the first three games of the second game and six of nine plays on the first drive of the third game. He didn’t play in the second drive, and returned to play all six snaps on the third drive. Throughout the preseason, the Chiefs generally rotated by drive rather than situation, giving all of their running backs opportunities on third downs.
- Kareem Hunt played six of eight snaps on the second drive of the first game. He didn’t play in the second game, presumably due to injury. He took one snap on the first drive and all six snaps on the second drive of the third game. The fact that Hunt played and then Pacheco returned to the game suggests a rotation.
- Brashard Smith started fifth on the depth chart in the first two games, but received two snaps on the first drive of the third game, suggesting he is now in the top three. He played the rest of the first half of the third game once the starters stopped playing.
- Carson Steele, who primarily played fullback last season, was the fourth running back on the depth chart in the first game and the primary backup in the second game. However, he mostly played in the second half of the final game. If he makes the roster, it will likely be for his play at fullback.
- Elijah Mitchell played in the first half of the first game, but fell down the depth chart throughout the preseason. In the final game, he only played in the third quarter.
WR
- Rashee Rice skipped the first preseason game, only played the first two snaps of the second game, and then 19 of 21 snaps with the starters in the third game. He was the clear primary slot receiver, similar to when he’s been healthy in the past.
- Xavier Worthy started all three preseason games. He oddly played another drive with the backups in the first game. He also played 19 of 21 snaps with the starters in the final game. He was primarily a Z receiver.
- Hollywood Brown missed the entire preseason due to injury.
- JuJu Smith-Schuster started all three preseason games. He played seven of 10 snaps with the starters in the second game and 11 of 21 snaps with the starters in the third game. He primarily played on the outside whenever Rice was playing, and in the slot whenever Rice wasn’t.
- Jalen Royals played in the first half of the first game and the first quarter of the second game, and didn’t play in the final game due to injury. He only mixed in with the starters when other starters were done playing. He played a mix of X and slot, similar to Rice.
- Tyquan Thornton similarly played in the first half of the first game and the first quarter of the second game. He was an outside receiver for them. He was also one of the four wide receivers playing in the first half of the final game. That included three snaps with the starters.
- Nikko Remigio only played in the second half of the first game, but he played a snap with the starters in the final game, and only played in the first half, while all other players on the depth chart continued playing into the second half. He is also listed as the team’s primary kick and punt returner.
- Jason Brownlee played a snap with the starters in the first game, but fell below Remigio on the depth chart by the final game. However, he was the only other wide receiver to play in the first half.
TE
- Travis Kelce played the three plays in the first game, sat out with Mahomes in the second game, and played 14 of the first 18 plays of the third game, before ending his day a few plays early.
- Noah Gray didn’t play with the starters in the first game, played seven of 10 snaps in the second game without Kelce, and 11 of 21 snaps in the third game. Gray played less than a quarter in the first game, and only played with the starters in the second two games.
- Robert Tonyan played six snaps with the starters in the final game. He was the next man up in the first game and only played in the first half of the final game.
- Jared Wiley was the next man up in the second game, playing ahead of Tonyan, but was the fourth tight end in the other two games. There is a decent chance the team keeps all four tight ends.

Las Vegas Raiders
General
The Raiders played their starters in all three games. That included a four-play drive in the first game, two drives for 15 plays in the second game, and a 10-play drive in the third game, for a total of 29 plays.
QB
RB
- Ashton Jeanty played 22 of 23 snaps while he was still playing. He left the third game six plays early.
- Zamir White played six snaps with the starters in the final game. He played in the first half of the first game and the second and third quarters of the second game. He was in a rotation with Mostert and McCormick in both games, but was the clear second running back on the depth chart in the final game.
- Raheem Mostert took one snap with the starters in the second game. He was the second running back on the field in the first game, too, but fell to third on the depth chart in the final preseason game. He still ended his game at halftime, before any other running back took the field.
- Sincere McCormick was the fourth running back in all three games. In the first two games, he stopped playing before the last two running backs started playing. In the final game, he rotated a little bit with Dylan Laube.
WR
- Jakobi Meyers, Dont’e Thornton and Tre Tucker all played 27 of 29 snaps with the starters. The two plays they missed were two goal-line plays with one running back, three tight ends and an extra offensive lineman. Thornton was consistently at X, Tucker at Z and Meyers in the slot. The Raiders never used 12 personnel, which likely won’t be the case in the season. Thornton played a few additional drives in both the first and third games.
- Jack Bech was one of the next men up in all three games, playing until halftime of the first half, into the third quarter of the second and third games. He left earlier than other wide receivers in the first game, suggesting he is fourth on the depth chart. Bech consistently lined up at Z, implying he will need to take snaps from Tucker to see playing time this season. He only lined up once in the slot after playing there significantly in college.
- Alex Bachman was the other player to join the game when backups came in, playing in the slot. He played into the second half of the first game, unlike Bech. He was a slot receiver.
- Collin Johnson consistently entered the game whenever Thornton’s day was done as their X receiver.
- Phillip Dorsett was the only other receiver to play in the first half of any preseason game, playing at the end of the first half of the first game. He was also the next man up in the other two games.
TE
- Michael Mayer played 20 snaps with the starters compared to 11 by Bowers. They primarily played in 11 personnel, outside of sharing the field for two goal-line snaps. The two split snaps on first downs, with Mayer taking all of the second downs, and Bowers taking most of the third downs. While we can expect the Raiders to use a lot more 12 personnel in the regular season, this usage is still concerning.
- Ian Thomas played two snaps with the starters, both on goal-line plays with Mayer and Bowers also on the field. He played in the first half of all three games, particularly when the starters were done.
- Qadir Ismail was consistently the next man up but played into the fourth quarter of all three games.
Los Angeles Chargers
General
The Chargers played their starters for an eight-play drive in the second week of the preseason.
QB
- Justin Herbert played all eight snaps with the starters.

RB
- Omarion Hampton played all eight snaps with the starters. He also played on the first six plays of the Hall of Fame game.
- Najee Harris spent the entire preseason on the non-football injury list.
- Kimani Vidal was fourth on the depth chart in the Hall of Fame game, but was the starter in the first week of the preseason, the primary backup in the second week, and was among the key players to sit in the third week of the preseason. When he played, he was typically rotating with all other players on the depth chart.
- Hassan Haskins was the next man up in every game, outside of the second week of the preseason, which he missed due to injury. He only played in the first quarter of the final preseason game, suggesting he should make the roster.
- Jaret Patterson was the second running back in the Hall of Fame game, but missed all other weeks of the preseason due to injury.
WR
- Ladd McConkey played all eight snaps with the starter and didn’t play throughout the rest of the preseason. In 11 personnel, he played four of five snaps in the slot.
- Quentin Johnston played the first three snaps with the starters but suffered an injury. He didn’t play in any other preseason game. He was the X receiver, similar to last season.
- Keenan Allen played five snaps with the starters. All of his snaps occurred in three receiver sets as the Z receiver.
- Tre’ Harris started the first two preseason games, but didn’t see a snap with the starters. He was among the players to sit out in the final preseason game. Harris was a Z receiver, suggesting he will need to take snaps from Allen in 11 personnel or McConkey in 12 personnel to see playing time.
- KeAndre Lambert-Smith played five snaps with the starters due to Johnston’s injury. He was a starter in the first two preseason games. He was an X receiver throughout the preseason, suggesting he is Johnston’s backup.
- Derius Davis was the primary slot receiver in the first and final preseason game. While this suggests he is the primary backup to the slot, if McConkey were to get injured, we could see Allen move to the slot and Harris become the primary Z. Davis is also the primary returner.
- Jalen Reagor missed the first three games due to injury, but was the Chargers’ primary Z receiver to start the final preseason game. He would be the likely seventh wide receiver if they keep seven.
TE
- Tyler Conklin played five snaps with the starters. He also played a few snaps in the first week of the preseason. He primarily played in passing situations, similar to Hayden Hurst to start last season, or Dissley late last season.
- Will Dissly played four snaps with the starters. He also played on the first drive of the Hall of Fame game. He returned to being the primary early down blocking tight end.
- Scott Matlock played two snaps with the starters as a tight end/fullback. He will likely continue his role from last season.
- Oronde Gadsden has not played with the starters. He played in the first three quarters of all four games. He’s primarily played as a receiving tight end, but at times was given an every-down role.
- Tucker Fisk played in all four quarters of all four games. He ended last season as the primary blocking tight end, but now that Dissly is in that role, he is relegated to being a backup.

- Ronnie Rivers played in the third quarter of the first preseason game and missed the other two due to injury.
- Cody Schrader was the next man up in all three games.
WR
- Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington sat out the entire preseason.
- Xavier Smith started the first two games. He left in the second quarter of the first game while the other starters played into the third quarter, suggesting he was third on the depth chart. He didn’t play in the final game, securing his roster spot. Smith is also listed as the team’s top punt returner.
- Konata Mumpfield, the seventh-round rookie, also started the first two games. He left in the second quarter of the second game, while all other players lower on the depth chart played into the fourth quarter. He didn’t play in the third game, securing his spot on the roster.
- Drake Stoops started all three preseason games and would be the seventh wide receiver if they keep seven.
TE
- Tyler Higbee and Colby Parkinson didn’t play in the preseason.
- Terrance Ferguson missed the first two preseason games due to injury. He played in the first half of the final preseason game.
- Davis Allen was the starter of the first two preseason games, and didn’t play in the third one. This suggests the team might keep four tight ends.

- Ollie Gordon II played in the fourth quarter of the first game. He moved up to third on the depth chart with Alexander Mattison landing on injured reserve. This meant he was the second running back in the second game, only playing once Wright’s day was done. He played every play in the first half of the final preseason game due to the injuries to the other running backs.
- Mike Boone, who signed before the second preseason game, was the next man up in each of the last two games.
WR
- Tyreek Hill sat out the entire preseason due to injury.
- Jaylen Waddle played eight of the first nine snaps with the starters in the final preseason game after not playing in the first two games. He was primarily an outside receiver.

- Nick Westbrook-Ikhine played 29 snaps with the starters. He was primarily an outside receiver, but he will likely see a decrease in playing time once Hill is back. HE was among the key players who sat during the middle game.
- Dee Eskridge was a top-three wide receiver in the first two games and was the next man up in the third game, suggesting he is the clear fifth wide receiver.
- Erik Ezukanma started the second game and was the next man up in the final game.
TE
- Darren Waller sat out the entire preseason.
- Julian Hill played 12 of 16 snaps with the starters in the first game, but missed the following two games. He was primarily a blocker.
- Tanner Conner played eight of 16 snaps with the starters in the first game and 10 of 16 in the third. He is a clear receiving tight end and would be the Dolphins’ primary receiver if Waller misses time.
- Pharaoh Brown played seven of 16 snaps with the starters in the first game and 12 of 16 in the third. He appears to be the secondary blocking tight end.
- Hayden Rucci was the next man up in all three games if the Dolphins keep five tight ends.

- Thayer Thomas started the second and third preseason games and was sixth on the depth chart in the first game.
- Jeshaun Jones started the final preseason game and was also the next man up in the other two games. He stopped playing at halftime, which could lead him to make the roster.

The Patriots had one early down play with Stevenson and Henderson on the field at the same time in the first game. He didn’t play with the backups.
- Antonio Gibson played six of 15 snaps with the starters in the second game. He played six of 11 on early downs, and no snaps on third down. He was the third-string back in the first game, playing until halftime. He was among the several Patriots who did not play in the third game.

- Demario Douglas played 16 of 29 snaps with the starters. He played all 15 snaps out of 11 personnel, but only one snap in a two-wide receiver set. 11 of those snaps were in the slot, which was more than all other wide receivers with the starters combined.

- Mack Hollins played 22 of 29 snaps with the starters and didn’t play with the backups.

- Kendrick Bourne did not play during the preseason due to injury.
- Ja’Lynn Polk didn’t play with the starters in the first game, but was the outside wide receiver opposite Williams with the backups. He suffered an injury and is expected to miss the season.

TE
- Hunter Henry played all six snaps on the first drive of the first preseason game. He has missed the rest of the preseason due to injury.
- Austin Hooper has played 24 of 29 snaps with the starters in the preseason. He played 23 of 23 snaps when Henry was out, and one snap while Henry played.
- Jack Westover played 13 of 29 with the starters. Nine of those snaps occurred at fullback. Westover played a higher percentage of snaps in a more traditional tight end spot as well as in the slot with the backups.
New Orleans Saints
General
The Saints didn’t have a consistent definition of starter throughout the preseason. However, using Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed as the baseline, the Saints played their starters for three drives for 18 plays in the second game, and 16 plays over three drives in the third game.
QB

RB
- Alvin Kamara played the first snap of the final preseason game, and then his preseason was done.
- Kendre Miller was the primary running back in every game, typically taking all of the first quarter to himself. He only played into the second quarter of the second game, suggesting the backup role is his.

- Devin Neal, the sixth-round rookie, missed the first two games due to injury. He was the fourth running back to play in the final game, starting in the middle of the second quarter, and playing into the fourth quarter.
- Cam Akers was the third running back on the depth chart in the first two games. He played during the first half of the first game, all four quarters of the second, and the second half of the final game.
- Velus Jones Jr. was typically buried on the depth chart, but he did see two early snaps in the first game in plays with both running backs on the field.
WR
- Chris Olave played 33 of 34 snaps with the starters. In the first game without Cooks, he was primarily an X receiver with Wilson in the slot. In the final game, he was consistently in the slot in three receiver sets, with Cooks out wide.
- Rashid Shaheed played all 34 snaps with the starters. He was lining up all over the field.
- Brandin Cooks played 12 of 16 snaps with the starters in the final game. He missed the second game and started the first game, only playing in the early parts of the first quarter. He was an outside receiver in three-receiver sets.
- Cedrick Wilson Jr. was the Saints’ primary slot receiver in the first two games, with at least one of the top three receivers missing. He played 11 of 18 snaps with the starters in the second game. He was also a primary backup in the final game.
- Devaughn Vele joined the Saints shortly before the final preseason game, but didn’t play in their final preseason game.
- Mason Tipton was the next man up in every game. He was the third wide receiver in the first week and joined after the starters left the game in the final two games. He was consistently an X receiver.
- Kevin Austin Jr. was the primary backup in the first game and joined after the starters left in the final two games. He played significantly at all three spots in the preseason.
TE
- Juwan Johnson played 14 of 16 snaps with the starters in the final preseason game. He missed the second game and played in the first drive of the first game.
- Foster Moreau and Taysom Hill spent the preseason on the physically unable to perform list.
- Jack Stoll started the first and second games and was the primary backup in the second game. He could start the season as the Saints’ second tight end.
- Treyton Welch received first-half playing time in all three games. He appears likely to make the roster if Moreau isn’t ready for the start of the season.

New York Giants
General
The Giants played their starters for one drive in the first preseason game and four for a total of 29 snaps.
QB
- Russell Wilson played 28 of 29 snaps with the starters
- Jaxson Dart played one snap with the starter and was the top man outside of Wilson in all three games.
- Jameis Winston played in the third quarter of the first two games, and the rest of the first half after Dart in the third game.
RB
- Tyrone Tracy played 17 snaps with the starters. He started both games, with Singletary mixing in after a few plays in both games.

- Eric Gray spent the entire preseason on the PUP list.
- Dante Miller was consistently the next man up.
WR
- Malik Nabers sat out the entire preseason due to a minor injury.
- Wan’Dale Robinson played 15 snaps with the starters. He played all 12 snaps out of 11 personnel, and three of 17 snaps in other personnel groupings.

- Jalin Hyatt played 10 of 15 snaps with the starters in the second game after not playing in the first game. He continued playing for another drive in the second game and played in the first half of the second game.
- Undrafted rookie Beaux Collins played 13 snaps with the starters in the second game, and, similar to Hyatt, didn’t play in the first game, played another drive in the second, and played for part of the first half in the third. He appears to be either the top backup on the outside or the second backup on the outside.
- Lil’Jordan Humphrey played in 11 of 13 snaps with the starters in the first game, but was a backup in the second and third games. He seems unlikely to make the roster, given that he primarily played outside, and there are four outside receivers ahead of him on the depth chart.
- Ihmir Smith-Marsette was a backup outside receiver in all three games, but is listed as the top returner on the unofficial depth chart, making it possible that he makes the roster.
- Gunner Olszewski and Montrell Washington were the two primary backup slot receivers. Washington played first, followed by Olszewski in the first two preseason games. However, Olszewski took the lead in the third game, playing in the first and second quarters, while Washington played in the third and fourth. Washington was subsequently released.
TE
- Theo Johnson played 24 of 29 snaps with the starters.
- Daniel Bellinger played in four of 29 snaps with the starters in the first game and missed the other two games due to injury. He played an additional drive after Wilson stopped playing.
- Chris Manhertz played six of 29 snaps with the starters in the first game and missed the other two games due to injury. He played into the second quarter of the first game.
- Greg Dulcich played 10 snaps with the starters in the second game. He played significantly in all preseason games due to the injuries to Bellinger and Manhertz.
- Thomas Fidone II, the seventh-round rookie, played significantly in the first and third games, but only in the second half of the second game. He seems unlikely to make the roster, unless the team doesn’t think they can bring Fidone back on the practice squad.
New York Jets
General
The Jets played their starters for one 10-play drive in the first game and two drives for 18 plays in the second game.
QB
- Justin Fields played all 28 snaps with the starters.

- Brady Cook started the third preseason game and was the primary backup in the first game, while Adrian Martinez was the primary backup in the second game. Martinez was released on Sunday.

- Breece Hall played 16 snaps with the starters. He played 16 of 20 on first and second downs and zero of eight on third and fourth down.
- Braelon Allen played two snaps in the first game and eight in the second game, including all of the third-down snaps in the second game. He didn’t play in the third game.

- Josh Reynolds played 26 snaps with the starters. He primarily played on the outside, with no clear X/Z distinction.
- Tyler Johnson played 13 snaps with the starters. He played a little bit with the backups in the first game and was among the wide receivers not to play in the third game. He was primarily a slot receiver.
- Allen Lazard played two snaps with the starters in the first game. He also played some snaps with the backups in the first game. He missed the second and third games due to injury. He primarily played on the outside with the backups with Johnson in the slot, but took one of his two snaps with the starters in the slot.
- Arian Smith played one snap with the starters in each game. He played into the fourth quarter of the first game, into the third quarter of the second game, and only the first quarter of the final game. He was an outside receiver.
- Xavier Gipson missed the entire preseason due to injury, while Irvin Charles spent the preseason on the physically unable to perform list.
- Malachi Corley played into the third quarter of the first game. He only played in the fourth quarter of the second preseason game, which was not a great sign of him making the roster. However, he started the final game and only played in the first half.
TE
- Mason Taylor missed the first game and played 13 of 18 snaps in the second game. He was among the key players who did not play in the third game. He was used in all situations, playing slightly ahead of Ruckert in 11 personnel.
- Jeremy Ruckert played 10 snaps with the starters in both the first and second games. He was also the starter in the third game, playing in the first quarter.
- Stone Smartt was the clear backup receiving tight end throughout the preseason.
- Zack Kuntz played two snaps with the starters in the second game. He was the clear backup blocking tight end, but was released on Sunday.
Philadelphia Eagles
General
The Eagles did not play their starters during the preseason.
QB
- Jalen Hurts didn’t play in the preseason.
- Tanner McKee started the first preseason game, playing into the third quarter. A finger injury prevented him from playing in the other two preseason games.
- Kyle McCord, the 2025 sixth-round pick, played the fourth quarter of the first game, was the second man in a rotation in the second game, and played the entire third game.
RB
- Saquon Barkley didn’t play in the preseason.
- Will Shipley played in the first quarter of the first preseason game and sat out the other two games.
- A.J. Dillon played in the second quarter of the first game, the first quarter of the second game, and sat out the third game.
- Montrell Johnson Jr., an undrafted rookie, didn’t play in the first game, but was the next man up in both the second and third games. He would likely be the fourth running back if they keep four, or the practice squad call-up if someone suffers an injury.
WR
- A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith didn’t play in the preseason.
- Jahan Dotson played in the first quarter of the first game and was among the key players sitting out the following two games.
- John Metchie III, whom the Eagles traded for prior to the third preseason game, played the first quarter and early into the second quarter. Every other Eagles wide receiver played later into the game, suggesting he is the top backup wide receiver on the outside.
- Darius Cooper, an undrafted free agent, started seeing playing time in the first game once Dotson’s day was done. He was one of the three primary wide receivers in the second game and started the third game. He was done at halftime, while all other wide receivers below him played until the fourth quarter. This suggests he is among the top six on the depth chart.
- Ainias Smith has been the primary slot receiver throughout the preseason, playing the first half and at least the start of the second half in all three games. He is the likely backup to the slot position.
- Terrace Marshall didn’t play in the first preseason game due to injury. He was among the top wide receivers in the second game, particularly after Johnny Wilson suffered a season-ending injury. He was the only other wide receiver to play in the first half of the final game, suggesting he is the seventh wide receiver if they keep seven.
TE
- Dallas Goedert didn’t play in the preseason.
- Grant Calcaterra played in the first quarter of the first preseason game. Similar to Shipley and Dotson, he stopped playing after the quarter and took the following two games off.
- E.J. Jenkins and Kylen Granson were backups in the first preseason game and played the first half and into the third quarter of both games. There was a slight tendency for Jenkins to play on early downs, and Granson to play on passing downs.

Pittsburgh Steelers
General
The Steelers rested most of their starters, while playing some starters over three drives in the third preseason game.
QB
- Aaron Rodgers did not play in the preseason.
- Mason Rudolph played part of the first half of all three preseason games.
- Will Howard, the sixth-round rookie, did not play in the preseason due to injury.
- Skylar Thompson was consistently the second quarterback to play in all three preseason games.
RB
- Jaylen Warren didn’t play in the first two games. He played in eight of 13 snaps over the first two drives of the third game. He played eight of 10 snaps on early downs and didn’t play on third down. This was basically the opposite role he held with the Steelers in recent seasons. He was the first Steelers offensive player to end his night in that game.
- Kenneth Gainwell played five of 13 snaps over the first two drives of the third preseason game, including all three snaps on third down. He also started the first two preseason games, playing the first four snaps of the first game and five snaps of the second.
- Kaleb Johnson played all four snaps on the Steelers’ third drive with the starters in their third game. In all three games, he didn’t enter the game on offense until Gainwell’s day was done. He played into the third quarter of the first two games and the first half of the third game.
- Trey Sermon was the next man up in all four games and would be the fourth running back if they keep four.
WR
- D.K. Metcalf didn’t play in the preseason.
- Calvin Austin III didn’t play in the preseason due to injury.
- Roman Wilson played as long as Rudolph did in the first game, the first half of the second game, and into the third quarter of the third game. Typically, players stop playing earlier in games rather than later as the preseason progresses, but this was a general trend for Steelers receivers. He left games earlier than most wide receivers, suggesting he’s the favorite for the third spot. He primarily played in a Z receiver role, but also played in the slot, which would work with Austin, who is also capable of playing Z or in the slot.
- Scotty Miller played all of the same drives as Wilson, while playing a little longer in the first preseason game. He was playing primarily as a slot receiver.
- Ben Skowronek played in four snaps on the first two drives of the first preseason game, playing primarily as a slot receiver. He was rotating with Miller, who played six snaps in that same time. While both Miller and Skowronek were backups last year, it’s possible they are fighting for the same roster spot.
- Brandon Johnson played on the first drive of the first preseason game and started the following two. He played until the end of the first game, until halftime of the second, and was injured after five plays in the third. He was consistently an X receiver and appears to be the favorite to be Metcalf’s backup, barring injury.
- Robert Woods has consistently been the fifth wide receiver in the rotation, but he’s always been the primary backup to Wilson as the Z receiver. Woods has a chance of making the roster despite being this low on the preseason depth chart because his role was more diverse than most Steelers receivers.
- Undrafted Max Hurleman has worked his way up the depth chart. He was the seventh wide receiver in the first game, fourth one in the second game and was tied for the fourth one in the third game. He always played into the fourth quarter. He was also a slot receiver, and primarily has a chance to make the roster if the Austin or Skowronek injuries are more serious than anticipated.
- Lance McCutcheon typically entered the game later than these other receivers, but was rotating in with the starters in the final preseason game. He was consistently an X receiver and would be the backup X receiver if Johnson’s injury is serious.
TE
- Jonnu Smith didn’t play in the preseason.
- Pat Freiermuth played 13 of 17 snaps with the starters in the third preseason game. He played eight of 12 snaps in 11 personnel and all five snaps in 12 personnel. He didn’t play with the backups.
- Darnell Washington played seven of 17 snaps with the starters in the third preseason game. He played three of 12 snaps in 11 personnel and four of five in 12 personnel. He started the first two preseason games and generally left games at the same time or earlier than the top wide receivers playing in the game.
- Connor Heyward played two of 17 snaps with the starters in the third preseason game, with one snap in 11 personnel and one in 12. He started the other two preseason games with Washington, but played later into the game than Washington. The Steelers kept four tight ends last season, and the fact that he played with the starters strongly suggests they will keep all four again this season.
San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers used their starters for an 11-play drive during the second preseason game.
QB
- Brock Purdy played all 11 snaps with the starters.

- Jacob Cowing missed the entire preseason due to injury.
- Jordan Watkins, a fourth-round rookie, started the first preseason game, but missed the other two due to injury.
- Skyy Moore, who joined the team a few days before the final preseason game, was the third wide receiver in three-receiver sets. He played into the third quarter of the game, suggesting he was second on the depth chart among those who played.
- Russell Gage played five snaps with the starters in the second game. He was the primary slot receiver in the first and second games, but missed the final game.
- Robbie Chosen didn’t play with the starters in the second game, but played all four quarters of the second and third games.

RB
- Kenneth Walker III didn’t play throughout the preseason due to injury.
- Zach Charbonnet played all 10 snaps with the starters and didn’t play with the backups.
- George Holani started the first game, playing into the second quarter. He was the next man up in the second game, playing into the second quarter. He didn’t play in the final game, suggesting he won the third-string job.
- Damein Martinez played in the first half of the first game and into the third quarter of the second. He started the final game, but played into the fourth quarter.
WR
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba played eight snaps with the starters, only leaving the field in 13 and 22 personnel. He lined up in the slot for three snaps.
- Cooper Kupp played seven snaps with the starters. He played all five snaps in two-receiver sets, and two of three in 11 personnel. He also lined up in the slot for three snaps.
- Marquez Valdes-Scantling played two snaps with the starters, both in three-receiver sets. He didn’t play in the first preseason game, but started the final one. He was an outside receiver throughout his time in the preseason.
- Tory Horton played one snap with the starters in 13 personnel. He started the first preseason game. He left in the second quarter, before everyone else in that game, suggesting he is above those players on the depth chart. However, an injury kept him out of the third game. He primarily played X receiver.
- Jake Bobo played one snap with the starters and was one of the three primary receivers in the other two games. He primarily played in the slot and also played the Z receiver spot.
- Dareke Young played one snap with the starters. He was also one of the three primary receivers in the other two games. He primarily played X receiver.
- Cody White was the next man up in all three games and appears to be the seventh receiver if they keep seven. He played a mix of outside snaps and in the slot.
TE
- A.J. Barner played 10 of 19 snaps on the Seahawks’ first two drives of the second game.
- Eric Saubert played 11 of 19 snaps on the Seahawks’ first two drives of the second game. He didn’t run a route with the starters. He also played in the first quarter of the first game, playing as a blocking tight end. He will likely see noteworthy playing time as a blocker this season.
- Elijah Arroyo played four of 19 snaps on the Seahawks’ first two drives of the second game. He also played in the first three quarters of the first game and into the fourth quarter of the second game. He was the only tight end on the Seahawks in the preseason to run more routes than to have pass blocks. The Seahawks never had a third down of 3 or more yards on those two drives where all three tight ends were playing. If there is any situation where we would expect Arroyo, it’s those situations, so we could see a notably different snap rate in season when the Seahawks have two-minute drills or are playing from behind.
- Nick Kallerup was the next man up in all three games, including starting the final game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
General
The Buccaneers played some starters for three drives in their second preseason game for a total of 19 plays.
QB
- Baker Mayfield didn’t play in the preseason.

WR
- Mike Evans sat out the entire preseason.
- Chris Godwin spent the entire preseason on the physically unable to perform list.
- Jalen McMillan played six snaps with the starters, leaving the game early due to injury. He also started the first preseason game. He is expected to miss the first half of the season. He was playing the Z receiver role, similar to last season.
- Emeka Egbuka played all 19 snaps with the starters. He also started the first preseason game, playing part of the first quarter. He rested in the third preseason game. He was primarily playing the X receiver role, which is Mike Evans‘ spot, but he will likely move to the Z role given McMillan’s injury.
- Sterling Shepard played 14 snaps with the starters. He started the first game and was among the key players, sitting out the final game. He’s consistently been their slot receiver, similar to what he played last season after Godwin’s injury.
- Tez Johnson played 13 snaps with the starters, mainly because of McMillan’s injury. He missed the first preseason game, but started the final game. The seventh-round rookie stopped playing at halftime, while the rest of the receivers lower than him on the depth chart played until the fourth quarter. He was primarily a Z receiver.
- Ryan Miller played three snaps with the starters. He was a primary backup in the first game and was one of the top wide receivers in the final game. He was one of two receivers to stop playing early in the fourth quarter rather than the end of the quarter. He was primarily a slot receiver throughout the preseason.
- Trey Palmer missed the first two preseason games but started the second one. He was the other receiver to stop playing early in the fourth quarter rather than late. He was primarily an X receiver.
TE
- Cade Otton played 17 of 19 snaps with the starters. He didn’t play in the other two games.
- Payne Durham played four snaps with the starters. He started all three games. He ended playing at least a full quarter and a half before all other tight ends below him on the depth chart, meaning his spot as the second tight end is secure.
- Devin Culp and Ko Kieft traded off on who entered the games first, but both saw significant playing time in all three games. They are either fighting for the third spot, or both of them will make the roster.
Tennessee Titans
General

- Tyler Lockett played in 19 of a possible 32 snaps in the first and third games as the slot receiver, while being among the veterans who rested in the second game. He only played in three wide receiver sets.
- Van Jefferson played 33 snaps with the starters over the three games, playing as their X receiver.
- Elic Ayomanor played four snaps with the starters in the first game, but 27 of 29 in the following two without. He primarily played at Z receiver, and was Ridley’s backup in the first game, but also lined up at X at times. He played until the third quarter of the first game, and stopped by halftime in the second two games.
- Chimere Dike played three snaps with the starters in games where Lockett played, and 10 of 12 snaps with the starters in the second game when Lockett wasn’t playing. He similarly played into the third quarter of the first game, and was done by halftime in the second two games. He was primarily a slot receiver.
- Bryce Oliver played three snaps with the starters in the second game when Ridley and Lockett weren’t playing. He played into the third quarter of the first game and the fourth quarter of the other two, but he was clearly ahead of everyone else on the depth chart. Oliver was an X receiver.

- Xavier Restrepo only played in the fourth quarter of the first game. He started playing in the third quarter of the second. He played a little bit in the second quarter of the final game. He primarily played in the slot.
TE

- David Martin-Robinson played four snaps with the starters, largely in 13 personnel. Once the backups started playing, he would play in 12 personnel. He played into the third quarter of the first game and into the fourth quarter of the second and third games.
- Josh Whyle didn’t see his first snaps until the second quarter of each game and played until the end of each game. He will only make the roster if they keep four tight ends.

General
The Commanders played their starters for a four-play drive to start their second game.
QB
RB
- Jacory Croskey-Merritt started the first preseason game, playing until halftime. He was the backup, rotating by drive in the second game. He was among the starters who rested in the third game, while Rodriguez played, suggesting Croskey-Merritt is ahead of Rodriguez.
- Austin Ekeler didn’t play in the preseason. He was available to play in the second game, but the Commanders didn’t have a passing down with the starters. He will presumably remain their third-down back.
- Chris Rodriguez Jr. played all four snaps with the starters. He rotated by drive in that game, playing until the middle of the second quarter. In the first game, he played from the start of the second half until the end of the game. In the final preseason game, he played in the first quarter.
- Jeremy McNichols spent the preseason as the Commanders’ primary passing-down back. He played the most snaps among the Commanders’ running backs in the preseason, but ran the ball the fewest.
- Demetric Felton was the next man up if the Commanders keep five running backs.
WR
- Terry McLaurin missed the entire preseason due to a holdout.
- Deebo Samuel played all four snaps with the starters in the slot. Those were his only preseason snaps.
- Noah Brown sat out the entire preseason due to injury.
- Jaylin Lane played three of four snaps with the starters. He was ninth on the depth chart in the first game and moved up to fifth for the second game. He didn’t play in the final game, while McCaffrey did, suggesting that Lane is now fourth on the depth chart. He primarily played in the slot with the backups, but played out wide in his short time with the starters.
- Luke McCaffrey played four snaps with the starters and started all three games. McCaffrey played a mix of slot snaps and snaps out wide.
- Chris Moore started the first game, didn’t play the second, and started this game. He was primarily an X receiver. He left the game before Osborn in both the first and third games, suggesting he is higher on the depth chart.
- K.J. Osborn started the first game, replaced Samuel in the second game, and started the third game. He was primarily playing in the slot.
- Ja’Corey Brooks, an undrafted rookie, worked his way up the depth chart. He played in the second and third quarters of the second game and was the fourth wide receiver in the final preseason game, suggesting he is now eighth on the depth chart.

- John Bates played four snaps with the starters and continued for another drive with the backups.
- Ben Sinnott played one snap with the starters. He played until the third quarter of the first game and started the first and third games.
- Colson Yankoff moved ahead of Cole Turner for both the second and third preseason games, if they keep four tight ends.
