Así quedan los bombos de la Champions: la más distante de la historia

El sorteo de la fase liga de la UEFA Champions League de esta temporada tendrá lugar en Mónaco este jueves a las 18:00 horas y seguirá exactamente el mismo procedimiento que el año pasado. Los grupos y los bombos como tal han desaparecido y será el software (en cuestión de segundos) el encargado de repartir rivales, dos de cada nivel o grupo repartidos en virtud del ránking de los equipos. 

Por delante, ocho partidos para disputar una Liga virtual en la que los ocho primeros se clasificarán para octavos de final y los ocho últimos quedarán eliminados. Todos los resultados influyen en la clasificación final y un gol de un equipo podría ser decisivo para la clasificación de uno u otro club.

Al filo de las siete de la tarde de este jueves se conocerán los partidos que se juegan en cada jornada y qué equipo lo hace en casa y fuera, aunque el reparto de los choques en el calendario no se dará a conocer hasta la mañana del sábado. Las televisiones mandan y exigen un reparto de espacios de algunos equipos complicados de cuadrar y más con seis clubes ingleses y cinco españoles.

Así quedan los bombos de la Champions 25-26

Bombo 1:PSG, Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern, Liverpool, Inter, Chelsea, Dortmund y Barcelona.

Bombo 2:Arsenal, Leverkusen, Atlético de Madrid, Benfica, Brujas, Atalanta, Villarreal, Juventus y Eintracht.

Bombo 3:Tottenham, PSV, Ajax, Nápoles, Sporting, Olympiacos, Slavia de Praga, Marsella y Bodo/Glimt.

Bombo 4:Mónaco, Qarabag, Galatasaray, Union SG, Pafos, Kairat Almaty, Athletic, Newcastle y Copenhague.

¿Cómo es el sorteo?

El sorteo comenzará por el Bombo uno, se extraerá una bola física antes de que el software automatizado, ya utilizado el año pasado, seleccione aleatoriamente ocho rivales teniendo en cuenta los siguientes principios: dos equipos de cada uno de los cuatro bombos, con un partido en casa y otro fuera, contra equipos de cada bombo asignados por el software. 

Los cabezas de serie están en el bombo 1 con el campeón de la última Champions incluido, el PSG. A la hora de conocer los rivales y dónde se juega si en casa o fuera todo lo decidirá la tecnología. 

En un principio no se enfrentarán conjuntos de la misma federación, pero la actual Champions sí lo contempla si así se llega a necesitar en algún momento, pero nunca habría más de dos equipos de la misma federación.

La novedad de esta temporada es que el sorteo de la fase liga de la UEFA Europa League y la UEFA Conference League se combinará por primera vez en un programa especial el viernes por la mañana, retransmitido en directo desde el Grimaldi Forum de Mónaco, lo que optimizará el contenido y maximizará el impacto de ambos sorteos.

En el Polo y cerca de China

La Champions 25-26 echará de menos, una campaña más, al United, pero disfrutará de equipos como el noruego Bodo,  situado en una ciudad al norte del círculo polar ártico, o el Kairat Almaty, equipo kazajo, radicado a 300 kilómetros de China y con 7.000 kilómetros de viaje desde España. El Kairat se ha convertido en el conjunto situado más al este en disputar la fase final de la Copa de Europa, superando al Astana. Dubái (4.300 kilómetros) o Kabul (4.700) están más cerca del corazón de Europa que la propia Almaty.

A este festival de kilómetros se une el Qarabag de Azerbayán y de triste recuerdo para el Atlético con los dos empates que cosechó en la fase de grupos de la temporada 2017-18. El cupo de lo exótico lo completa el Pafos chipriota, con apenas once años de historia y que es dirigido por el español Carcedo y que ha sido capaz de eliminar al Estrella Roja.

Procedimiento del sorteo

El sorteo comenzará por el Bombo 1, se extraerá una bola física antes de que el software automatizado, ya utilizado el año pasado, seleccione aleatoriamente ocho rivales teniendo en cuenta los siguientes principios:

– Dos equipos de cada uno de los cuatro bombos, con un partido en casa y otro fuera contra equipos de cada bombo asignados por el software

– No se enfrentarán equipos de la misma federación

– No más de dos oponentes de la misma federación

Se repetirá el mismo procedimiento para todos los demás equipos hasta que se hayan sorteado todos los emparejamientos.

El calendario completo de la UEFA Champions League con las fechas de los partidos se comunicará a más tardar el sábado 30 de agosto.
