A derrota para o Cruzeiro pode ter sido a última do técnico Cuca sob o comando do Atlético-MG. A diretoria estuda a demissão do treinador depois do revés em casa para o rival, em jogo válido pela primeira partida das quartas de final da Copa do Brasil.
De acordo com o jornalista Marco Geves, do canal Bica Galo, Cuca entregou o cargo à diretoria do Atlético-MG logo após a derrota. A saída, no entanto, deve ser comunicada pelo clube como algo “consensual”. O anúncio oficial pode ser feito ainda nesta quinta-feira.
Cuca não avalia melhora no Atlético-MG
Na coletiva depois da derrota para o Cruzeiro, o técnico Cuca já deixou transparecer uma irritação e uma falta de esperança com o futuro do Atlético-MG. Quando questionado sobre uma possível evolução do time, visando o jogo de volta do dia 11 de setembro, o treinador afirmou não saber informar sobre.
“Não tenho um prazo para te dizer, eu faço meu melhor. Eu não tenho um prazo e nem uma certeza de que as coisas vão melhorar. Eu tenho vontade de trabalhar e de fazer com que as coisas melhorem”, disse Cuca.
O desempenho do Galo caiu drasticamente após a paralisação para a Copa do Mundo de Clubes. O time venceu apenas cinco vezes em 13 partidas. Também perdeu seis e empatou uma. Apesar de estar classificado às quartas de final da Copa do Brasil e também na Sul-Americana, a possibilidade de repetir o roteiro de 2024 e brigar para não cair no Brasileirão pesa para a mudança.
Torcedores comemoram possível demissão
A saída de Cuca do comando é algo visto como positivo pelos torcedores do Galo. Apesar do carinho com o treinador, os atleticanos já criticam o técnico e suas escolhas há algumas partidas.
“Já tinha passado da hora. Torcer pra entrar alguém que recupere o grupo”, comentou uma torcedora.
