José Mourinho já não é treinador do Fenerbahce, depois de o emblema de Istambul ter oficializado, na manhã desta sexta-feira, o seu despedimento. Uma decisão que surge poucas horas depois de o clube ter falhado o apuramento para a Liga dos Campeões, na sequência da derrota (1-0) com o Benfica na segunda mão do playoff de acesso à fase final da competição da UEFA.
O treinador português de 62 anos, recorde-se, havia chegado à Turquia no início da época 2024/25, deixando o país pouco mais de um ano depois. Durante este período, Mourinho não conquistou qualquer título no comando técnico do Fenerbahce, tendo terminado a liga turca na segunda posição, atrás do Galatasaray – na temporada transata, foi ainda eliminado da Taça nos quartos de final e da Liga Europa nos oitavos. Orientou a equipa num total de 62 partidas oficiais, nas quais registou 37 vitórias, 14 empates e 11 derrotas.
Durante a sua passagem pelo Fenerbahce, Mourinho viu o clube investir 113,86 milhões de euros na contratação de novos jogadores, 67,86 milhões dos quais na sua primeira época em Istambul, um valor que constitui um recorde para o emblema turco.
Lara Karacan, Lead of Content do Transfermarkt na Turquia, analisou o despedimento de Mourinho do Fenerbahce. “Depois de ter falhado o título na época passada, Mourinho já estava numa posição difícil. Mas agora, com a equipa a perder pontos no primeiro jogo da temporada e a falhar o apuramento para a Liga dos Campeões, foram invocadas razões desportivas para o seu despedimento. No entanto, penso que também existiu um motivo político. Durante o mercado de transferências, e sobretudo na conferência de imprensa de antevisão ao jogo com o Benfica, Mourinho criticou a direção, a política de contratações e a qualidade do plantel. A conjugação da crise desportiva no arranque da época com a agitação interna levou à sua saída”, explicou.
