Depois de perder para o Cruzeiro pela Copa do Brasil e demitir o técnico Cuca, o Atlético-MG definiu quem será seu treinador na partida deste domingo (31), pelo Brasileirão. O Galo anunciou que o auxiliar Lucas Gonçalves irá comandar a equipe no confronto que será realizado no Barradão, às 18h30 (de Brasília).
“O auxiliar técnico Lucas Gonçalves comandará a equipe na partida deste domingo, contra o Vitória, no estádio Barradão, em Salvador. O confronto será válido pela 22ª rodada do Brasileirão”, anunciou o Atlético-MG.
Quem é Lucas Gonçalves, interino do Atlético-MG?
O auxiliar Lucas Gonçalves faz parte da comissão técnica permanente do clube e não será a primeira vez que irá comandar o Atlético-MG. Ele já esteve a frente da equipe em seis ocasiões e carrega um grande retrospecto. Nas seis partidas, acumula seis vitórias e somente uma derrota, com aproveitamento de 83%.
A tarefa de Lucas Gonçalves não será das mais fáceis. O Galo vive momento delicado na temporada. Desde o retorno da paralisação para a Copa do Mundo de Clubes, o Atlético-MG é o time com menos pontos no Brasileirão. São sete partidas, uma vitória, um empate e cinco derrotas. A equipe ocupa a 12ª colocação na tabela com 24 pontos somados.

A diretoria do Atlético-MG está no mercado em busca de um novo treinador, mas já recebeu uma negativa. O primeiro alvo tentado foi o português Carlos Carvalhal, livre após deixar o Braga. Ele deseja permanecer na Europa. Assim, o clube entrou em contato com o também português Pedro Martins, que dirige o Al Gharafa há três temporadas. As negociações estão em andamento.
A torcida atleticana vê Jorge Sampaoli como o nome ideal para assumir o Galo. Inclusive, cartazes foram produzidos pedindo que o argentino seja o contratado e reprovando as possíveis investidas em Pedro Caixinha e Zubeldía.
