Východočeši v lize bodovali s dnešním soupeřem počtvrté za sebou. Bohemians ztratili po dvou soutěžních výhrách, kromě ligového triumfu nad Karvinou zdolali v týdnu ve 2. kole domácího poháru Hostouň. Stejným výsledkem 2:1 uspěly i Pardubice v České Lípě.
Domácí šli do vedení hned z úvodní šance zápasu. Brankář Reichl špatně zpracoval Vondrovu zpětnou přihrávku, míč mu vypíchl Patrák a pohodlně zakončil do odkryté sítě. Nejlepší střelec týmu vstřelil třetí gól v ligovém ročníku.
Jinak ale první poločas mnoho vzruchu nenabídl. Bohemians zaznamenali první střelu mezi tři tyče až ve 34. minutě nedůraznou hlavičkou Adama Kadlece. O poznání nebezpečnější byla Hilálova vyložená šance ze 44. minuty, gólman Šerák na jeho přízemní pokus zblízka stačil zareagovat. V nastavení mohl zvýšit Patrák, druhou trefu mu ale vzal zásah videorozhodčího a těsný ofsajd.

I po změně stran domácí s přehledem kontrolovali těsný náskok a „Klokani“ jen potvrzovali, že měli se třemi vstřelenými góly nejhorší útok soutěže.
V 62. minutě Šanclova technická střela proletěla těsně kolem horního rohu Reichlovy brány. Hosté znovu zahrozili až v 86. minutě, přineslo jim to ale vyrovnání. Adam Kadlec si po rohovém kopu našel prodloužený míč na zadní tyči a vstřelil teprve svůj druhý ligový gól v kariéře.
Pardubice si připsaly první domácí bod v ročníku, úvodní dva zápasy prohrály a inkasovaly v nich osm branek. I po prvním zápase po převzetí novým většinovým vlastníkem, jímž se stala investiční skupina Kaprain miliardáře Karla Pražáka, zůstávají jako poslední tým v soutěži bez vítězství.
