Karlovarští otevřeli skóre ve 3. minutě díky brance obránce Adama Rulíka, který nastoupil ve čtvrtém útoku. Plzeň vyrovnala 17 sekund před koncem první třetiny, kdy využil přesilovou hru Jan Schleiss.
