All-Pro 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey showed up as limited on San Francisco’s practice report Thursday with a calf injury. He was previously a full participant at practice as the 49ers ramped up for the 2025 season. Details about the injury were not initially clear.
News of McCaffrey’s injury arrives three days before the 49ers are scheduled to open their season Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
