With the college football season officially in full swing, it’s time for the NFL to take center stage, as all 32 teams will open their season over the next few days. Week 1 can be tricky when it comes to betting picks because of the uncertainties that lie within rosters; for example, determining how many snaps a rookie wide receiver will play or how quickly free-agent acquisitions will adjust to a new scheme can be difficult to predict.
Each week, we will analyze some of the best player statistics on Prize Picks with the help of our new PFF Player Props Tool. Betting insights, matchup data and historical hit rates are just a few of the things the tool has to offer.
Here are two props that stand out ahead of Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season.

WR Malik Washington, Miami Dolphins: More than 16.5 receiving yards
Washington made Miami’s roster last year as a sixth-round rookie out of Virginia. He was used sparingly in the first half of the season, playing no more than 25 snaps in the first 10 weeks. However, he earned a much more significant role down the stretch, averaging 44.6 snaps per game from Weeks 14-18.
With more playing time came more opportunities for Washington. He was a consistent player in Mike McDaniel’s offense, catching at least three passes in the final four games and averaging 42.2 yards per contest over that stretch.
The arrow is pointing up on Washington’s outlook heading into his second season. He was a standout player in training camp and someone quarterback Tua Tagovailoa specifically mentioned regarding chemistry-building, which was the result of Tyreek Hill missing time with an injury. Not surprisingly, Washington was listed as a starter alongside Hill and Jaylen Waddle on the team’s official depth chart heading into the season.
Washington’s receiving yards square is set at 16.5 yards this weekend, something he easily surpassed in the final month of his rookie season. Tight end Darren Waller has missed practice all week and seems iffy at best to suit up this weekend, which could result in an additional target or two for Washington vs. the Colts.
Our current Player Props Tool projects Washington to record 21.3 receiving yards, which makes his 16.5 Prize Picks number good value.

WR Ricky Pearsall, San Francisco 49ers: More than 42.5 receiving yards
Pearsall was the 31st overall pick in last year’s draft but had to overcome a lot to get on the field — he was shot in the offseason and missed the first six games of the season. When he rejoined San Francisco around midseason, he was noticeably behind — both in terms of the depth chart and adjusting to the speed of the game at the NFL level.
Like the previously mentioned Washington, Pearsall put it all together and was a difference-maker down the stretch. He accounted for 18 receptions, 247 yards and two touchdowns over the final three weeks of the season, highlighted by an explosive eight-catch, 141-yard, one-touchdown game against the Detroit Lions in Week 17.
With Deebo Samuel now a member of the Washington Commanders and Brandon Aiyuk set to miss at least the first four weeks of the season recovering from a torn ACL and MCL, Pearsall is in line for a significant workload early on this season. The 49ers’ other top wideout, Jauan Jennings, is also a question mark heading into the season. Jennings has been nursing a calf injury since the middle of July and was holding out in camp over a contract dispute, so it’s fair to assume he will not be up to full speed in Week 1.
Jennings’ absence allowed Pearsall to work as the WR1 in camp for quarterback Brock Purdy. In their lone preseason appearance, Pearsall caught all three targets he received for 42 yards on just seven pass routes.
Given the injuries and depth concerns of the 49ers’ pass-catchers, Pearsall has an opportunity to step up and solidify himself as the team’s go-to option in Week 1. His Prize Picks receiving yards projection sits at 42.5 yards, while our PFF Player Props Tool projects 68.4 yards at division rival Seattle.
