Der 1,98-Meter-Mann war in Trier in der 18. Minute ohne Einwirkung eines Gegners weggerutscht, als er in die Zone zog, und blieb schmerzverzerrt liegen. Auf einen Betreuer und Veteran DeAndre Lansdowne (36) gestützt humpelte er in die Kabine. Am Montag ergab eine Untersuchung im Klinikum Südstadt Rostock die niederschmetternde Diagnose.

„Es tut mir sehr leid für Robin“, sagt Sportdirektor Kevin Anstett. „Das ist ein herber Rückschlag, sowohl für ihn persönlich als auch für uns als Team. Ich weiß, dass Robin stärker als zuvor von dieser Verletzung zurückkehren wird. Wir werden ihn bestmöglich auf dem Weg zurück begleiten und wünschen ihm gute Besserung.“

Wie die Seawolves den Ausfall auffangen, ist noch unklar. Fest steht nur: Gleichwertigen Ersatz für Amaize gibt es auf dem deutschen Spielermarkt nicht.
