Una mujer tuvo que ser trasladada de urgencia a un hospital después de sufrir la picadura de un escorpión en el interior de un hotel de la localidad madrileña de Alcorcón. El incidente ocurrió el pasado viernes y fue atendido por la Policía Municipal del municipio del suroeste de la Comundiad de Madrid, que recibió el aviso por parte del propio establecimiento.
Según ha informado el cuerpo policial local a través de sus redes sociales, los agentes acudieron rápidamente al hotel y trasladaron a la afectada a un centro hospitalario para que los sanitarios valoraran si era necesario aplicar algún tratamiento específico.
La picadura, aunque no suele ser mortal en especies presentes en Europa,puede causar síntomas como dolor agudo, inflamación, fiebre o vómitos, dependiendo de la sensibilidad de la persona y del tipo de escorpión.
Las primeras investigaciones apuntan a que el escorpión podría haberse introducido en el hotel dentro del equipaje de la propia clienta, ya que este tipo de incidentes son muy poco frecuentes en entornos urbanos. Aunque existen especies autóctonas en la península ibérica, su presencia en zonas como Alcorcón es poco habitual.
La mujer fue atendida sin que, por el momento, se haya informado de complicaciones graves. Las autoridades recuerdan la importancia de buscar atención médica inmediata ante cualquier picadura de escorpión, por leve que parezca.
