Carson Beck‘s transition from Georgia to Miami marked a surprising shift in his college football career as the quarterback, now in his final year of eligibility, reflects on his departure and his ambitions with the Hurricanes.
Beck, aged 24, spent five formative years at Georgia, where he developed into a standout quarterback.

His exit from the program was unexpected, particularly as it coincided with his final season of college eligibility.
Speculation swirled about potential Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals influencing his move to an ACC program.
However, the quarterback dismissed these rumors, emphasizing his gratitude for the support he received from Georgia fans during his tenure.
“Obviously, the way that everything ended was very abrupt,” Beck said. “I wasn’t able to give my thanks or give my appreciation. Obviously, I’m super thankful and appreciative for my five years there. I mean, that’s almost a quarter, like 20% of my life, right? I mean, man, I gave everything that I had to that university.
The ending was tough because it obviously wasn’t a part of my plan. Like, I never wanted it to end that way. I didn’t want to go down in the SEC championship game, get injured and then ultimately end up making the decision to go elsewhere.”
The catalyst for his transfer was an injury sustained during the SEC championship game.
Although he initially enrolled for the 2025 NFL Draft, Beck withdrew his name and opted to join Miami for one final collegiate season.
Beck’s new chapter at Miami brings fresh opportunity and high stakes
Now leading Miami as their starting quarterback, Beck has embraced the challenges of a new team and conference.
The Hurricanes remain undefeated, positioning them as contenders for a playoff spot.
To secure a postseason berth, they will likely need at least 10 wins, a target that demands consistent performance in the competitive ACC landscape.
With an unblemished record, Beck has the opportunity to take calculated risks as Miami pursues a national championship.
The quarterback’s focus remains on leading his team through a demanding schedule, with the Florida State game serving as a pivotal moment in their campaign.
His leadership and adaptability will be crucial as the Hurricanes aim to cement their status as playoff contenders in the ACC.

“I’m excited for that matchup,” Beck added. “I’ve never played in that stadium. That’s the cool thing about being in the ACC.
Now heading into ACC play, I’m playing a lot of different teams I’ve never played before.”
